Cat Rescue Network

dedicated to feline welfare We are a Cat Rescue organisation based in South East England, dedicated to better the lives of all cats.

Team members have a wealth of experience in owning, rescuing and caring for cats. We are passionate about building a Network of rescues that will work in harmony with one another, thus saving many more lives, and improving welfare. Cat Rescue Network is dedicated to neutering cats wherever possible. I have been rescuing for nearly 30 years, and in 2023 decided to embrace technology and begin an online presence and page...

Please please please share where you can. poor love needs help!

Do you recognise this elderly girl who was brought in to us last night from Paignton?

She has an overseas microchip which has never been registered in this country.

She also appears to be ear-tipped.

Please- let's get her home 🏡

The last two kitties went to their new homes this week.

Cat Rescue Network is now stepping back for a bit.
There will be posts sporadically with me helping out other rescues ♥️

This is to concentrate on my family.
It will also mean i can clear off the high amount of debt this had put me in.
I saved well over 100 cats from aigust last year til now, along with dogs, rats, birds..whoever needed me.
And as you can imagine that has crippled me financially as i am a carer for my son.

To all of you that adopted from us. Thankyou.
THANKYOU for giving them their happy ever after. For loving them.
For sending me wonderful updates on them.
You are all incredible.

It's been worth every penny spent. Every tear. Every heartbreak. Every loss and every giggle.
Seeing broken souls come in, watching them flourish and thrive. Holding space for them whilst they learnt to trust and that touch could be gentle. Realising they would never be alone or scared ever again is what its all about for me.

It's only ever been about them.
It only ever will be.

So for now ..a quiet pause...because once you're called to rescue, you won't be able to leave. The universe won't allow it ;)

Instead you'll find me quietly behind the scenes. Supporting others. Making a difference and saving innocent lives.

Much love

Til all cages are empty ✊

Sin ♥️

Petition: Delay the ban on rehoming and owning XL Bully dogs for 18 months 02/01/2024

Please take a minute or two to sign and share this 🙏

Petition: Delay the ban on rehoming and owning XL Bully dogs for 18 months XL Bully dogs cannot be rehomed after 31/12/23, and will be illegal to own without an exemption certificate from 1/2/24. As a result many Bully dogs are being abandoned or placed in rescue. We want more time for owners to rehome or get exemptions, to avoid dogs being euthanised unnecessarily.

Normally I would be doing a "this is my last rescue post of the year... please home a kitty" post.
I would normally would be thanking the many people whom have adopted from us. Supported us. Advised us. Kept us going. The list is MASSIVE this year....

Not.today.

This year.. we are quiet and sombre.
Our hearts are like lead balloons.
My home is covered in candles.
Questions of ..what now?
Did we do enough?
There's still time right....right!?

Tonight all.over the UK, thousands of XL Bully owners are facing an uncertain tomorrow.
A tomorrow where their family members will need to be muzzled in any public place. Treated like they are a threat to anyone.
They will be subject to unlawful legislation which makes absolutely no sense.
Family members, that have done NOTHING wrong.

XL bullies are indeed a recognised breed in America.
Here...they are not.
And yet, this Government has somehow, yet AGAIN, been allowed to pass this through based on..type!?

A "type" that covers many other breeds and NOT just XL bullies.

The stories we have heard over the past weeks, will stay with me forever.
The pleading, the tears, the anger and frustration, the hope and courage, the confusion...and finally utterly heartbreaking desperation.
A dark DARK night.

Those in social housing faced with the choice of kill your dog or lose your house.
Families completely distraught.

Those NOT in social housing blaming those that are for making a fortune breeding XL bullies.

Vets and vet nurses being turned on, and in turn doing the same.

It is utter carnage.

There are much simpler solutions.

Bring in licensing...for ALL breeders.
With independent QUALIFIED animal welfare inspections regularly.
Unannounced. Thorough and transparent. With results being in the public domain.

Bring in licenses to keep a pet.

All dogs to be neutered.

All dogs to go through mandatory puppy training, and their owners.

Mandatory insurance so no pet is without full medical care.
The lost goes on.

Yes this will take organisation
Yes this will take time.
But needlessly killing dogs like this is morally abhorrent.

There is a tiny glimmer of hope mid January.
Thanks to Carla Lane Animals in Need Liverpool

Until then...
Please PLEASE PLEEEEEASE

Ask your Vets to stand with us.
This is slowly happening but it NEEDS to grow massively and quickly.
They do not need to comply with this unlawful and barbaric circus.

REACH OUT TONIGHT TO HOME AN XL BULLY
THERE IS STILL TIME
There are many of us that can and will help you through the exemption process, every step of the way. There is help for neutering, microchipping, muzzle training...all waiting.
🙏🙏🙏🙏

Get involved.
Share posts everywhere
Offer to transport, donate, train, help with exemption.

We....
You...
Me....
All.of.us

Must band together. We must fight this.

Breed specific legislation does not and will not EVER work as the problem doesn't lie at the feet of the dogs...
But at the feet of the humans that failed them.

Dear animal guardians.
Please have that difficult conversation with your vet.

Ask them..are you going to comply with putting XL bullies to sleep
Let them know the entire country would stand in solidarity with them if they refused to comply.

We have to stand together
