๐ฌ๐ง TeamGym British Championships - Junior ๐ฌ๐ง
Hawth did a bit of โsaving the best โtil lastโ at the British Championshipsโฆ.. ๐
The final round on Sunday was the Juniors - where we had a Mixed Team competing ๐คธ๐ผโโ๏ธ
The team had a tricky last week of training when they lost a teammate Freddie to injury ๐ค (you can hear him - the loudest voice by far - cheering in the videos!). They also had considerable pressure on them as a team - they wanted to do well in their last competition together (some of them age-up next season); they had a point to prove after two seasons of competing with and chasing our friends from for top positions; and they also wanted to test out their skills and impress their coaches ahead of the GB call up that most of the team have later in year ๐ฌ๐ง
They started their competition with a best-ever performance of their striking floor routine (which got compliments from judges, coaches and gymnasts alike) followed by their characteristically difficulty-packed tumbles, vaults and trampettes. ๐ช๏ธ
A few minor mistake as we went in to the last round meant the gymnasts went out to presentations not knowing if they had done enough to secure the gold - but the final scores came in with the Hawth Junior Mixed Team as the BRITISH CHAMPIONS ๐๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ง
You can see how much it meant to them in the pictures ๐ฅฒ๐
A huge congratulations to the team and their coaches Chris and Amber, what a way to finish a brilliant weekend! ๐๐ป๐๐ป
Day two of the British Championships started with the youngest (ages 9 - 11) category - but also the biggest and most competitive! ๐ฑOur Primary team put out a strong performance on the big stage (first time for over half the team). They improved their score from qualifiers, had the 3rd highest Trampette score of the session and finished in 9th place overall. The future of TeamGym at Hawth looks exciting ๐A huge well done to the gymnasts and their coaches Amy & Chris ๐๐ป

๐ฌ๐ง TeamGym British Championships - Senior ๐ฌ๐ง
Saturday afternoon it was time for the Senior competition. A hugely exciting round showing the best TeamGym that GB has to offer.
Hawthโs Senior Men have only 6 team members (meaning they all have to take part in every run!) and have an average age of well in to the late twenties. Their experience (on a quick count I tbink they have been to Europeans 15 times between them!) shone through and they fought hard against the youngsters from Scarborough and LS to secure the Silver Medals ๐ฅ They also took the joint highest score on floor for the entire competition ๐๐ป
Thank you to Bracknell Gymnastics Club for lending us a coach - one day some of them might retire and weโll have a second coach of our own! ๐ฌ
Well done to the Hawth Legends and their long suffering coach Amber ๐

๐ฌ๐ง TeamGym British Championships - Youth ๐ฌ๐ง
On Saturday Hawthโs British Championships weekend in Newcastle started with the Youth (age 10 - 14) Mixed gymnasts - where we had two teams Hawth White and Hawth Navy.
With a brand new floor routine (taught in the last 4 months) and some serious upgrades on apparatus Hawth White put out a classy performance to take home the Silver Medal ๐ฅ The clubโs first ever medal in this category ๐คฉ The team placed 1st on Trampette, 2nd on Floor and 3rd on Tumble.
Hawth Navy had a difficult run up to the competition with missing team members and injuries - but they pulled together a fantastic performance and finished in a respectable 7th place, also having the 3rd highest Trampette score. ๐๐ป
A huge well done to all the gymnasts and their coaches Warren and Chris ๐

We love seeing Hawth out on the international stage - fantastic work lads! ๐๐ค
Today we had 20 gymnasts - 11 Juniors and 9 Seniors - take part in the TeamGym GB Selection Event ๐ฌ๐ง
Competing as individuals (unusual for TeamGym-ers!) they showed off their skills amongst the best gymnasts in the country ๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Some of the younger gymnasts are experiencing the process for the first time - and some of the seniors are on their 4th selection event ๐๐ป
In a few weeks they will find out who has been selected to be part of the GB Teams for the European Championships in Azerbaijan in October ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ฌ๐ง
Whatever the results - they all performed fantastically today and should be very proud ๐

๐ฌ๐ง MAG BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS๐ฌ๐ง
Over the weekend our top MAG gymnasts were in Liverpool for the British Championships.
Below is a summary of each category from coach Richard.
๐ตUnder 14
They had a great day, loving the experience of the big arena for the first time.
Alfie scored 62.00, performing his routines as reliably as ever.
George scored 61.35. Another consistent score.
James had 2 falls (high bar and vault) and scored 58.95.
Edward did not compete on high bar and scored 43.80.
Alex scored 42.40, with a tricky time on pommel.
โช๏ธUnder 16
Jamie scored 66.25 all round, 19th place
Stunning vault but a difficult high bar.
Very pleased with his performance, especially considering injury hampered preparing for this event.
๐ตUnder 18
Alfie scored 63.80 all around, placing him in 27th with a best finish of 15th place on rings.
First time in the under 18 category
