Harvest festival

This week has been very exciting at nursery continuing to finish off our harvest festival activities.
The children made some pumpkins using paper mache, they then went on to paint them using oranges and greens to look like a pumpkin.
We were then able to hang some pumpkins up to create our harvest corner, including the light boxes with some leaves on and some real pumpkins. They also did some activities with the pumpkins, including hammering the pins into them.
We also had some painting out using similar colours so that the children could make their marks on the paper to look like pumpkins. We used different resources, including some chopped fruit to outline the shape.
The children then really enjoyed helping to decorate and fill the boxes with all the donations, they loved speaking about what food they were putting into the box.
We then had a Su from the Easter team come to read a story to the children, "The Hungry Caterpillar" which she related to the reason why we donate food. She told the children where all the food will be going and how much they have helped 😃
So lastly, thank you for all your donations, it was very much appreciated.❤️
