While in Foshan mainland China I was invited by the Foshan Library for an interview and presentation of my book “The History of Wing Chun & The Six Core Elements” it was an honor for me when they presented me with a Certificate and put my book in the Martial Arts section of their Library. Another event happened in Foshan regarding my book where another institute “ the Foshan museum” also presented me with a certificate and accepted my book in their archives, what made it all the more special was that I am the first western author that they have accepted a book from, hopefully this will pave the way for work of other authors to be accepted as well. Will make a separate post concerning the Foshan Museum tomorrow.

Sifu Sergio , Yuri Sifu Morelli & Sifu Sunny (Master So) in Foshan China

Between all the meetings and visits of the diverse lineages “please see the previous 6 posts” we found time to meet up with Sifu Sunny So in Foshan and visit the final resting places of the late Weng Chun grandmasters Tang Suen and Tang Yik to pay our respects.

The Team are ready for today's Action . It great to have Nicks in for his 3rd full day back assisting, you will see a lot of Nick who has returned back to his Kungfu family. Nick will be opening Schools of Kungfu Portsmouth in January 2025 .

Sifu Sergio in Foshan China

A wonderful visit to the ancestral temple and house of 3rd generation lineage holder Law Tiu Wen of the Snake Crane Wing Chun Mun. For me an important moment as it’s very clear now that this lineage represents the first versions of the Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Tze, there is a group out there that is trying to disprove this, even interviewing some obvious jealous people who have things to gain by discrediting the facts. One of the points they are trying to bring forward is Law Chiu Wing studying under a student of Sum Nung which was in reality nothing more then a visit to learn more about the Yuen Kay San system and how much it deviated from Snake Crane Wing Chun over time from the moment FoK Bo Chuen passed it on to the Yuen brothers. A similar reason was when Law Chiu Wing went to study and research Choy Lee Fat for a while as it was one of the systems that Wing Chun at the time was designed for to counter. Luckily we have so much proof to nullify all those silly things. The Nim Tau Song which is part of the 1890’s Secret Note as recorded by Law Tiu Wen is just one example of many.

Ps The secret note was accepted around a year ago by the intangible cultural heritage department of the Foshan museum 4 years after it was first donated to the museum. A video of that and interview statement of Sifu Tam Kit Hung will be released by me when the time is there.

Today me .wayne, and researcher Tam Kit Hung spend the day at the kwoon of Sifu Leung Jam Sing grand student of the late
Wing Chun Sifu Yuen Kay San, we went deep into the historical connection between Ip Man and Yuen Kay San, and Sifu Leung Jam Sing confirmed that what I wrote in my book “The History of Wing Chun&The Six Core Elements” regarding the relationship between Ip man and Yuen Kay San is correct. He shared several details that matched exactly with what my late Sifu Cheng Kwong told me in 2006 and what Sum Nung student Dr Cheung Yung has told me around 2011. People can believe what they want to believe but me personally will always fight for the Truth and even in a minority of one the truth is still the truth. Luckily I am very far from being in a minority of one and some great things happened here in China regarding my Thesis and Book. More on that later.

Today we spend a day in Hok San with Gu Siu Lo Sifu and his son Gu Tsi Wing Sifu of the Leung Jan Lineage, this particular lineage however is a different one from the one passed down through the more well known Fung family who I visited myself during 3 visits around 14 years ago.

The aim of my visit this time around was the Claim of them teaching the Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Tze sets which I was pretty sure of to be non existent in Dr Leung Jan’s curriculum no matter which one of the Descendants we are talking about. All was cleared up however with Gu Siu Lo Sifu explaining his curriculum in depth and the origins and names used in the past and present. It turned out that their Siu Nim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Tze where not the three famous sets we all know through the diverse Ip Man lineages and the Yuen Kay san, Yiu Choi, Yuen Chai Wan and Snake Crane lineage, but actually San S*k based patterns only. Another important point being that the Chum Kiu and Biu Tze actually were called Chui Ying Sao ( Chasing Shape hands) in the past, and where actually one single San S*k set. The adding of the name Chum Kiu and Biu Tze is from their point of view understandable however as the Link to the Ip man Wing Chun system is understandably an important one for obvious reasons. We must keep in mind however that most of the Kung Fu that Ip Man eventually taught in Hong Kong was initially from the Yuen Family with later add on material from other sources. For people wanting to go deep into the history and diverse lineages there is my book that Btw recieved great praise today more on that very soon.

Sifu Sergio, Sifu Lee Kong Sifu Sunny & Sifu Yuri in Hong Kong

Good times with Sifu Sunny So, Sifu Yuri and Sifu Lee Kong. Weng Chun (Eternal Spring) and Fukien Bak Hok/Fujian Bai Hé (Fujian White Crane). Fantastic day where we all agreed about the immense technical similarities between the two systems.

Yesterday Schools of Kungfu Portsmouth is anther day closer to opening ! Nick is definitely putting in the work to recap & take his personal cultivation to the next level. Working with Luca in today's classes .
