In October 2022, I lost my Dad to Alzheimer's Disease 💔. In two weeks' time, I start the Ride Across Britain 🚴‍♂️, a 9-day ride from Land's End to John O' Groats, raising money for and awareness of Alzheimer's Disease in memory of my Dad.

I'm reasonably fit, but I'm not sure anyone will ever feel fully prepared to ride 110 miles for 9 consecutive days 😅! I'm doing this challenge with my great friend Henry Stell as we both share the experience of having a family member who has suffered with Dementia.

I'm going to try to post daily to tell you a bit about my experience of Dementia and what I've learned that I hope might be useful to others.

Sauna helps the muscle recovery process by increasing blood circulation and carrying oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscles. Heat also allows muscles to relax better, thus relieving muscle tension.
