Have you been less active than usual during the Christmas period?
Why not go for a walk today? Regular exercise is particularly important as we age and our metabolism slows down. We need to burn more energy than we consume, and a daily walk can help us achieve that. A brisk walk can also strengthen your heart by increasing your heart rate and reduce the risk of heart disease. Walking can also strengthen bones and prevent the onset of osteoporosis. Moreover, it's an excellent way to boost your mood and improve your overall well-being.
Christmas songs from next week or leave them until week commencing 11th December??

How are your cuppa routines going?? Remember, whilst the kettle is boiling, you can be doing some heel raises. Whilst you're waiting for your cuppa to cool down, you could do some side arm raises.
When you get up from your chair to fetch something, why not sit down, then stand up again. You could repeat that a few times - just don't forget what it was you stood up for in the first place ๐
Thank you to all Move it or Lose it participants in 2022.

We can help you to wind it up again!
Did you know that by the time you turn 65, you could have lost a quarter of your muscle mass? This is called sarcopenia and leads to a reduction of strength and balance which ultimately increases your risk of falls. This is why we include strengthening exercises in our classes to help you stay fit for life. To find your local class, go to
https://www.moveitorloseit.co.uk/find-a-class/
Our classes will be running as usual this week but will be being very mindful of the temperature! Please keep yourselves well hydrated and protected from the sun ๐
We'll be keeping cool at our classes on Monday and Tuesday. Please bring your bottle of water but chilled water will be available for top ups.
Bring your summer scarves too so that we can waft ourselves ๐
See you after the weekend ๐
