Trip to the Port of Tyne where the dome of the lighthouse ended up in the water after the last storm. Restoration works are underway and DroneCam Solutions are providing both drone footage and Timelapse of the works in progress, it was 45mph wind gusts at the top this morning, phone nearly blew out of my hand! 😱🙈

Great to have received our 9th consecutive Operational Authorisation from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

When we started in 2016, the CAA permissions were called a PFAW (Permission For Aerial Work), it then changed to PFCO (Permission For Commercial Operation) before changing to OA (Operational Authorisation). Whilst the name may have changed, our committment to ensuring each drone flight we conduct adheres to our Operations Manual hasn’t.

As with many industry regulators, policies and procedures can be ever changing, and the CAA is no exception. As a drone operator, we, DroneCam Solutions, keep our Operations Manual (OM) updated to reflect the changes to policy and procedures, our OM is reviewed by the CAA annually to demonstrate our understanding of the changes implemented in the way we work.

Once the review is complete, we receive our OA meaning we’re safe and have the relevant authorisation to go for another year.

Been a bit quiet over the last couple of weeks due to a number of ongoing projects. Most interesting one has to be the below pictured site in Plymouth.
DroneCam Solutions were appointed to conduct a drone inspection of the largest group of Grade 1 and Grade 1* listed buildings in Europe. The site is incredible, Grade 1* listing is afforded to buildings with unique architectural significance that can not be found anywhere else in the world…. More in the comments ⬇️⬇️

Arrived back from holiday at 10:30 last night and I was up at 5am today to start a busy week (nothing like getting straight back to it!) if that wasn’t surreal enough, I get to York for the first roof inspection of the day and find a Lizard hugging a somewhat perturbed Monkey! 🤷‍♂️

Our client, a large building surveyor in the North East, wanted to trial drone inspections to assist with their workflow. They contacted DroneCam Solutions to assist with this. I’m away this week but work doesn’t stop! Thanks to Alex and Ezra for completing these roof inspections in Kent and Surrey. Both properties required aerial inspections as part of condition reports for two clients.

Our client needed some aerial shots of a unit that’s on the market for lease. The purpose of the aerials was to show the location of the unit on the industrial estate and its close proximity to the main arterial route close by.

What a transformation! Spraycladuk NE LTD got DroneCam Solutions to provide another series of aerial imagery and videography of the before, during and after stages of the treatment and re-spray of this unit. Love the colour scheme 💯🙌

Dodging the rain the other day for a roof inspection next to the Metro Centre, 2 large multi-occupancy units as part of a condition report.

Monster project today! Please excuse the fact I’m not smiling, the sun came out and I was concerned I never had the factor 50 with me 🤣

Busy week ending at the pub, not for a drink though, completed another roof inspection as part of a portfolio of over 230 hospitality venues were currently working our way through!

Whilst working in London, took a slight detour to get some shots of Tower Bridge. Love the London skyline!

It was an early start in Brighton yesterday, followed by a couple of jobs in near by Worthing before finishing the day in Kent. Great to see the mornings getting notably lighter, means we can get more done!

Took some time out on Sunday to watch the Cramlington Whites under 10s who we are proud to sponsor. They aced the semi’s now it’s onto the finals! 💯🔥 good luck lads!

Wrapping up the week with a job on Newcastle Quayside, been an interesting week managing the diary with the chaos from the storm at the beginning of the week!

Early start in Bridgend before a trip to Richmond, Surrey to complete roof inspections for a property portfolio

Two roof inspections in Newcastle city Centre and Kendal with similar issues, restricted access. Deploying a drone was vital for our clients reports of these properties. The ability to view all roof areas to offer a complete assessment should not be underrated, utilising drone technology means those hidden valleys aren’t left to guess work.

Early (and very cold!) start in Bradford for an ongoing timelapse project, coming together nicely!

Annual DJI flight report is in! Flew 77 hours in 58 cities and a distance of over 500km, not bad going! Puts us in the top 0.4% of DJI users worldwide which explains why it was a busy year!

What a week! Nice that all my jobs have aligned nicely to make what I though would be a circular route, however, it had made a somewhat questionable shape. 😂🙈 Have a great weekend!

It’s Baltic in London today, -2 degrees so thank goodness for the diesel heater! Second leg of a series of roof inspections being completed in the capital today. Really need some fingerless gloves!

We were tasked with taking some images of a location at the south of the runway at Newcastle International Airport, needless to say, some solid risk assessments and communication with NCL ATC and Police was done to make this happen, then the opportunity to fly at the end of the runway shortly after BA took off and before Jet2 arrived.
