KUMOTERKI (gońba góralska)

🇬🇧The carnival time in Poland is particularly celebrated by Tatra Highlanders. During this period Kumoterki and Gazdowska Parade take place every Sunday in a different village.

Highlanders from Tatra Mountains gather together to take part in the parade and traditional race.
Harnessing horses to handmade sleighs, or skiing after a horse galloping on the snow, they are trying to achieve the best time.

This discipline is very similar to the world-famous ski joering, but the differs is that the Highlanders put on this occasion their traditional folk costumes!

Polish Highlander traditions are close to my heart, and those that are connected to horses, especially arouse interest and fascinations of mine.

And what are equestrian traditions or annual celebrations related to horses in your region? I would love to hear about all of them!

Busy weekend again - what a surprise!

Saturday and Sunday I am helping out at Cranbourne Dressage where today I clipped lovely Tia who stood for me like hypnotised 😏.

That was my first time doing trace clip and if I may say, I think it turned out great! 🥳

Friday evening I spent in Chislehurst doing a little tidy up for a Mr Dales Pony and Mr Baby 2yo Pony who are moving yards tomorrow and needed to look all handsome for the occasion! 🤵🏿‍♂️🤵🏽‍♂️
