Disabled people must work from home to do ‘their duty’, says UK minister 12/12/2023

The government recently announced that people with mental health and mobility challenges will soon be required to work from home.

Otherwise, they could lose their annual benefits amounting to £4,680❗️

Z2K director Ayla Ozmen said that this move was rushed and poorly thought out, as there were no guarantees that people in the groups above would be able to find jobs that they could do from home to sustain them 🎯.

The Department for Business and Trade recently announced that employers could soon be required to offer rolled-up holiday pay 💸 to part-time workers starting in 2024. This was after the government drafted legislation 📄 on the same.

It's important to note that the legislation has mixed reactions, with 55% of survey respondents backing it, and 45% against it. Those not in favour argue that it could result in reduced compensation or missed leaves.

According to a recent ruling by the Employment Tribunal (ET), you should.

The tribunal found an employer guilty of disability discrimination after they gave their employee a low appraisal and a warning letter for low performance. Note that this worker could not attend work due to menopause, but her employer also withdrew her sick pay❗️
