🌳It was a beautiful sunny day for our Woodland Craft and Wellbeing Session at Erlas Victorian Walled Garden this morning.

β˜€ The gardens and woodland area looked fantastic in the summer sunshine.

🌿Today we had a go at creating a plant hanger using Macrame thanks to Daisy and Kate.

β™₯ This was the last group session organised by Coed Lleol in Wrexham this summer. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped with the group, especially our wonderful volunteer Gemma who has supported us throughout. A big thank you to Liz and Ellen who kindly shared their craft skills with us all over the last few sessions, it was much appreciated.

🌈 New skills have been learnt and shared. Wonderful friendships have been made and nurtured through creating and spending time outdoors in nature.

🌳This week we had the fantastic opportunity to share with trainee GPs some of the benefits of attending our Woodland Wellbeing groups. They were also invited to experience some of our activities and to think about how spending time outdoors not only benefits their patients, but as our much valued health professionals it can support their wellbeing too. 🌳

🌳🌺🌦 There is lots of evidence to suggest that humans respond in a positive way when looking at patterns in the natural world. At Erlas Victorian Walled Garden at our Woodland Craft and wellbeing group we discovered lots of patterns and we photographed them. Thanks so much to everyone who sent their photos to share. We hope you enjoy looking at the beauty of nature. ☘🌼🌳

🌳 At the Woodland Craft and Wellbeing session today at Erlas Victorian Walled Garden we took a close look at the beautiful book 'The Lost Words' by Jackie Morris and Robert Macfarlane. They used words in nature that were beginning to vanish and brought them back to life through poems and illustrations. We looked around the site for words relating to the natural world that we could also use in a creative way. 🌳

🌻 This morning's Woodland Craft and Wellbeing Session was all about nature and textiles at the beautiful Erlas Victorian Walled Garden in Wrexham.

🌞 We foraged in the sunshine for different flowers and leaves we could use in our prints and then we got very noisy hammering!

🌸We all had a go at Hapazome and created beautiful prints. Some of the group also embellished their prints with embroidery.

πŸ˜€It was lovely to spend time together creating - and of course there was lots of tea, biscuits and laughter!

🌳If you would like to join us please send an email to: [email protected]. Our next session is on Friday 16th June from 10-12.30 and we will be willow weaving.

🌳Today was the final session of our 6 week programme at Park in The Past. Thank you so much to James from the Woodland Classroom for leading us all over the last few weeks.

πŸ¦‹As usual, we began our session finding a sit spot and becoming more aware of nature all around us. We completed a bioblitz, recording species of wildflowers, trees, birds, butterflies and insects found at the site.

πŸ”₯ We also enjoyed spending time together around the campfire. Mike shared with us all the beautiful vase he had created from a piece of oak, John shared some seeds and Julia had kindly made us all some runes from hazel collected last week.

🌳It has been so special to share this time together outdoors, connecting with nature and enjoying each other's company. πŸ’š

πŸŒ³πŸ’šThank you Anne for sending us this beautiful poem to share with everyone. πŸ’šπŸŒ³

Tread carefully as you walk
Care as you tread
Our planet is finite.

Mother Earth
Revered, delicate
A treasure

A lifetime is not long
To wake, to feel
This Earth

πŸ„ We all got creative today at Park in The Past with James Kendall from the Woodland Classroom. We did some whittling with hazel, learning different cuts and using them to make mushrooms. It was a great way to spend time together outdoors. πŸ„

🌳 Thank you everyone who attended our Woodland Wellbeing session today at Erlas Victorian Walled Garden. It is great to notice the changes at this beautiful site as we move through Spring. We followed the woodland trail and foraged for materials we could use to create a wild weaving wall hanging. If you would like to join our group at Erlas please email: [email protected].🌳

🌳Another lovely Woodland Wellbeing group at Park in The Past with James from the Woodland Classroom. We spent some time noticing everything around us and connecting with nature. We helped to create a new circle, further into the woodland to provide another space for people to use during sessions at the site. We prepared and cooked bread in three different ways on the campfires and enjoyed sharing it together. 🌳

🌳🌞 It was a beautiful sunny day for our third Woodland Wellbeing group session at Park in The Past. We started the session by spending some time on our own, noticing nature all around us and just taking some time out for ourselves. James from the Woodland Classroom then taught us all how to make and maintain a fire outdoors using natural materials we find around us in the woods. We then made ourselves a welcome cuppa to finish off the morning. 🌻🌲

This beautiful poem was sent to us by Anne after attending our Wellbeing in Nature Day at Erlas Victorian Walled Garden. Thank you Anne for sharing it with us all.

🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲
Seated upon an old wooden bench
green lichen hanging from its arms
Surrounded by lawns and green foliage
The silver birch bears no leaves
Their beautiful white bark is forever peeling
The daffodils beneath glow
in golden clusters
With the deep purple viola
And white mauve hellebores
Drooping large speckled petalled heads
In the shade of a flowerbed
Seemingly grown wild
Amongst snowdrops and russet foliage
Seed heads puff themselves wildly
Upon the grass
With the wafting of a gentle breeze
Grass plants stick their heads up above the leaves
