What a year! It's been one of the most successful years yet with over 140 students taking part and 7,000 + points won.⭐

Our halls champions this year with a whooping 2,910 points are 🏆
They are worthy winners with entries into nearly all 15 competitions this year.

Thank you to UOD Netball University of Derby Climbing Club Pool & Snooker University of Derby Dodgeball University of Derby Women's Rugby Union Team for their support in running competitions this year. 👏

This year, 37 dedicated students generously gave their time, energy and enterprise to support Uni sport and physical activity programmes and engage students in participation. From strength and conditioning provision to supporting a range of social sports, activities and events throughout the year, our workforce team's hard work has been at the heart of our successes in 2023-2024

🌟 4 part-funded MSc Internships
🌟 17 applied practice opportunities linked to SES UG programmes
🌟 2 photographers
🌟 7 sports activators delivering 100+ hours of volunteering & engaging 150 students in Just Play
🌟 4 football referees officiating 111 games, and supporting 15 teams and over 130 players in our campus league
🌟 14 US clubs helping at Halls Sport & Get Active events
🌟 450+ hours of athlete strength & conditioning delivery
🌟 Over 100 hours of sport performance analysis recorded
🌟 2 new Assistant Coach volunteers

With plans to further expand the sports workforce programme in 2024-2025 we look forward to a fantastic year of sport ahead.

SPORTS CENTRE BANK HOLIDAY OPENING - On Monday 6 May, the Sports Centre will be open from 10am to 4pm.

PARA-BADMINTON - Due to unforeseen circumstances this Friday's para-badminton session 12.30-2pm at the Sports Centre has been postponed. We hope to re-schedule this inclusive sport opportunity later in the year. 🏸🏸

Run the Cancer Research UK's Race for Life 🎗️ and help raise money for life-saving cancer research.

We're excited to be able to offer 15 individuals the opportunity to take-on Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this June.
Through our Just Move prograMme we are supporting ten 10k and five 5k Race for Life places for the RFL event taking place on 30th June at Markeaton Park 🧡 Race for Life is for everyone, whatever your fitness level or gender.

If you'd like a place please enter our RFL Draw. Simply email [email protected] and include RFL 10k or RFL 5k in the subject line of your message no later than 8 May. The 15 lucky winners will be selected at random through the draw on Thurs 9 May.

📚 In my fifth year at Derby University studying a part-time Masters in Applied Sport and Exercise Science (Psychology Award) alongside being a Badminton Scholar – representing the Women’s 1st Team.
