I joined Slimming world in 2013 to encourage other members in my family but I ended up loving it for myself. I had never given it a chance before and did so well, losing 4.5 stone in total, but then took on two younger foster children which reintroduced the 'naughty foods' back into my life! I guess I used this as an excuse, although I continued to come to group and put weight back on at the same time!!! Coming to group meant that it never went back on completely, so that was a tremendous help. My weight gain or maintain was never judged and earlier this year I got back on track and lost a stone and a half. I've plateaued again, as I had a lot on, but now I'm determined to be on it and shed at least a stone before my Son's wedding at the beginning of October. THERE, I'VE SAID IT! Game on!

I've met many group leaders ( not all SW) in my life but none as committed as Maria. She understands the ups and downs of daily life and never passes judgement. She is encouraging, genuine and most of all, she is REAL! 'Been there, done that and got the T Shirt' has our Maria 🥰 I couldn't do this without her and without the love, laughs and support shared in our group.

Here is another amazing member of mine! Kathy Nicol is just incredible! Here is a little bit of her journey so far!

Hi, my name is Kathy and I attend a Spondon Slimming world group with Sam.

I started my SlimmingWorld journey in March 2017 two months after retiring I was doing very well despite having 5 holidays that year then in May 2018 I had lost just over 3 st then my Mum passed away it really knocked me for six and I started to put the weight back on. By 2019 had put 2 st back on and my knee was making walking difficult.

The new knee, that December made a difference and the lockdown came and I put all my weight back on and when we went back into group I was exactly the same weight that I started with in 2017 !!

The following lockdown I managed to lose 2 st and then was up and down until this January and I only had 5 months to my grandson’s wedding and finally it kicked in and this is the lowest I have been since my knee first went in 2007
I am now well on way to my personal target, and I’m well over 4st lighter!

I have gone every week except holidays. It helped when I went on the social team. I love seeing everyone
So no matter how much you struggle if you want it enough it will happen ❤️

I started my slimming world journey in March 2023, after getting into unhealthy habits with food and the weight piling on!

When starting slimming world I was a little apprehensive as to what it was going to involve! Once I had joined, I could not believe how much food it involved, what food there was on offer, and what I was allowed to eat!
I have never felt like I was on a diet and I have never been hungry which is really important to me.

It has been so easy to follow, I have been able to include all the foods I love, within my healthy extras and using my syns.

4 months after joining, I got my target 🎯 losing 3st 4.5lb but have gone on to now get my 3 and a half stone award!

I could not have done this without the amazing support of my group at 7pm and my consultant Samantha Holmes Sam's Slimming World Groups
