New wine bar 'with a difference' set to open in city today

The opening night and weekend is nearly upon us so we thought we'd introduce some of our 'by the glass' wines on our summer menu...

Tierra Antica. A bright and refreshing sauvignon blanc with mouth-watering citrus aromas of grapefruit and lime.

Lumari Lucido Inzolia. A blend of Lucido and Inzolia grapes, this is a beautiful and easy drinking white wine, with a hint of lemon and pistachio.

Bella Modella Pinot Grigio Rosé. A crisp, fruity rosé, think strawberries, a hint of raspberry and even a subtle note of red cherry.

Bella Modella Pinot Grigio. A classic Italian Pinot Grigio, beautifully light and appreciated for its zesty and citrus character with subtle hints of honey and almond.

We can't wait for you to see the full menu and hear what you think.

Opening tomorrow from 5pm and Saturday from 2pm.

The wine is chilled, the bar is fully stocked and the glasses are lined up to perfection. Can’t wait to welcome you all on Friday for our opening night (and every week after 🤭)!

I can’t believe we open this Friday. To say I am like a kid at Christmas would be the understatement of the century.

Bottles for days...

Still lots to do and more bottles to arrive but it's starting to take shape. The countdown is on.

We took an exclusive tour around Derby's swanky new city wine bar The launch date is later this month

Let’s see if we can sneak a couple of cocktails in there too… just a couple… proper classic ones 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤔🤔

Now it’s time to turn to the spirits menu and select some amazing whiskies (my second love - after wine of course). There are also gins, rums and vodkas to go along with our ‘world beers’ bottle style bar… so many beers, IPAs, pales and ciders to try in such a short time… 😂

Well that’s the wine ordered for our 1st Summer Wine List #1 and it’s on its way to us as we speak ready for the opening event on the 26th July 🥳🥳🥳

I’m so excited for you all to see the list, there will be grape varieties and flavour profiles you will recognise and are familiar with, you may recognise the grape blend but not from that part of the world, and best of all there will be some, that I guarantee, you will have never come across before. I have taken time to carefully select incredible quality wines to showcase the best examples of those regions and vineyards and show what we are all about, but at the same time, deliver the value of bringing these wines to you from the many merchants we deal with, who in turn deal with 100s of independent growers from all over the world.

Our plan for first few wine tastings will be mid-week wine ‘flight style’, so an opportunity to try some or all of the wines on the list that you may have never tried before. A set price evening in a relaxed atmosphere, to chat about wines and maybe find a new one or two to add to your palette, or even just a step away from your ‘go to’ classics and try new avenues.

I will also be using these events to introduce new wines and spirits, you will get to decide your favourites as a collective group and based on the response, introduce them to the main bar menu… I might even sneak preview a couple of photos of the menu this week… 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔🤭
