As some of you are aware a few months ago we had a family emergency occur which has taken up a lot of my time and energy recently both emotionally and physically.
Due to this, I have decided to move to a larger new Workshop next to home, and I have decided GGG Jewellery Co's shop in Derby is now closed. Between running GGG online, the shows and the shop, I have spread myself too thin. I've decided this is what is best for me personally as truthfully, I adore my business, but I found being a shopkeeper the one aspect I couldn't give my all too and sadly it also made other aspects I love like the online fall behind.
I forfeited the lease today for Derby, in favour of having a bigger workshop space I can deal with closer to home which means I can manage to run GGG better and still deal with the ongoing family emergency. This is why I have been a bit behind on socials and emails, as we are currently finishing setting up our new workshop.
All existing orders and repairs from the brick and mortar Derby store - absolutely nothing changes, please drop me a message, and we will deliver or we can deliver through DPD instead of picking them up.
Online orders - we have had an extended delay to the orders due to the family emergency and limited time, and now the creation of the new workshop space has added to it. We're working as fast as we physically can and really appreciate your ongoing patience.
We are still going to be online, we still will have a huge Workshop space in Derbyshire that in the future will be open to the public and hold jewellery classes and welded bracelet days (which we're very excited about!) and will still be available to purchase at Chatsworth House and Alnwick Gardens - we will also still be trading at all of our usual Shows too.

We have very limited working hours going forward for the foreseeable next few weeks, as we are currently in the process of moving workshop and we are currently having a family emergency. We are still honouring all orders and are hoping to have everything caught up and up to date by August/September.
This isn't a case of taking on too many orders - this is that we have had to cut working hours down both dramatically and unexpectedly, which means we have had accrued a delay that we are trying to work through but having limited hours does massively affect us.
Currently the family emergency is out of our control and has been changing rapidly, and your understanding is massively appreciated. We understand our wait times have had to be extended which we did not want to do at all - and its been heartbreaking for me to have to do that - and we are working our absolute hardest to get these back down to our usual wait times.
Our current wait times are not reflective of who we are as a small independent business, but do reflect how difficult of a year it has been in terms of family matters/health issues beyond our control. I'm sorry to be vague, but please be aware what we are going through at the moment is extremely sensitive and out of our control.
I am so appreciative of everyone's understanding for the delays and understand it is a lot to ask for repeated patience. We are still working our hardest on getting orders out as quickly as possible, but we do ask that customers bare in mind we have a delay at the moment.
This is both the sadness and the joy of being a true independent, as whilst we pride ourselves on handcrafting all our jewellery it means in times of emergency things like this can happen.
It has been a very hard year for us as a family and I do massively appreciate every single one of you for being there for me and GGG during this time. We're hoping within the next few months to have everything back on track and we'll be changing how we're running things going forward to make matters more feasible for us to run as an small indie brand with 3 members of staff, as we're not a 'big' company with a factory that churns out jewellery - and I don't want to be a 'big' company that doesn't care about its designs. I do want people to have an amazing experience with us and that is something I am working on when time permits.
The great thing about us is that every single piece is handcast. We're a small batch indie jewellers and we're not a fast fashion brand, and I wan't to make this more known going forward.
Things can only get better, and I can't wait for the future. Thanks so much everyone for being along for the ride.

Loads of people have asked, so we've finally decided to do it!
Our Derby store is having its first ever Permanent Welded Bracelet Day - which is coming on the 11th Feb!
This means on the 11th of Feb we will be Appointment Only for this event,
It goes like this:
For 2 Sterling Silver Welded Bracelets = £100 (Individually £60)🖤
• As of next week, you will be able to book a 20 minute slot to come in store and get a welded bracelet by one of our talented smiths on Saturday 11th Feb.
• It is a little Galentines/Valentines/Treat yo self vibe. 🖤
• for the 20 minute slot, you will receive a free glass of Prosecco/none alcoholic drink, personalised shopping time with the store to yourself and tote bag.
• You and a Friend (or just yourself!) can pick a sterling silver chain for us to weld as a permanent bracelet.
• This treatment will also include one free replacement weld.
Booking will be open as of Wednesday next week, it will require a £15 deposit and for our first time it will be limited to 15 slots. This will be announced on our stories on Wednesday at 5pm.

As you may have noticed, I've been a bit behind on emails and the Derby store has been closed due to a few issues - Chris has had the world's worst toothache and has been in and out of the dentists (having only 2 smiths this has caused a massive delay!), we had to delay finalising renovation + reopening the shop and workshop due to a family bereavement, and my emails have basically decided to go and mark everything as read.
It has been a few weeks, that is for sure!
The Derby store is going to reopen officially next week but we will be closed next weekend as we are going to be at Tattoo Freeze in Telford - we have a very fun event and a full new collection we're going to be announcing over the next few weeks too at our Derby store so keep your peepers peeled 👁 ⛓

Just an update; We're back in store as of Friday 29th of July after having some time off due to Paris having a pulmonary embolism and being rushed to hospital - this does mean that all posting will be done tomorrow and Friday instead of today, and that there has been a delay.
