Such sad news in Derby.

Unfortunately they're not the only arts organisation in the city that's struggling against a *strong* headwind. The space itself needs saving if nothing else, for a united organisation that could house and support the cultural grassroots... Please sign!

Members of our community, supporters of everything we do, have created this petition in the hopes of mobilising a way in which the dance centre could still operate.

This petition has nearly 2,500 signature now. We are extremely grateful for this support. It really does mean everything to us as we seek ways in which our provision of dance classes, performances, and community outreach programs can continue.

'Zine Club is back again this Thursday, 6-8pm.

Pop along to work and talk about 'zines, artist books and all things publishing related.

On the press today I have been developing some graphic elements for the new Arts Derbyshire manifesto. Using original letterpress poster type for the main headings and inked up in bright colours to match Arts Derbyshire's branding, this will be combined with typewritten text done on an original Imperial 202 typewriter.

It's always fun to generate original hand made graphic elements rather than working entirely on the MacBook.

Now I just need to wait for the ink to dry before I can scan the artwork and begin laying out the final design.

Happy birthday to British graphic designer Margaret Calvert, who was born on this day in 1936 🚸

Whether it is the design of the UK’s road signing system, wayfinding at railway stations and airports, or the typeface used on the gov.uk website, Calvert’s work has shaped much of our national visual identity.
