We need your furniture donations! Please help us to help those who are struggling to furnish their homes.

We are desperately in need of a number of items at the moment: chests of drawers, small wardrobes, tables and chairs (to seat two or four), small fridge freezers, washing machines, TV stands, coffee tables, single beds and double beds.

WE ARE HAVING A CLEAR OUT 🙂

Over the years we have amassed quite a number of items that are not really suitable for our main charitable purposes. We are now looking at clearing these out in order to make room for donations of essential items. So to this end we will be at the Duffield Car Boot Sale tomorrow Treasure Trove Fairs. There will be plenty of bargains to be had and lots of upcycle projects at rock bottom prices! All sale proceeds will go to the running costs of the charity 🙂

We were delighted to recently celebrate Hope City Furniture being presented with the King's Award for Voluntary Service 2023 by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Elizabeth Fothergill, CBE and Lieutenant Colonel David Dawber, TD DL. Thank you to all our volunteers and trustees for all their hard work over the years.

We are thrilled and delighted to share that Hope City Furniture has been awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service, as part of His Majesty the King’s 2023 honours list. This recognition is equivalent to an MBE and is the highest accolade awarded to local volunteer groups.

Hope City Furniture is one of 262 local charities, social enterprises, and voluntary groups across the UK that are being honoured today for their exceptional service to their local communities. This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, staff, directors, and everyone who has contributed to building the charity over the past five years.

Since our establishment in 2018, we have had the privilege of assisting approximately 650 individuals and families in Derby with the provision of over 3,250 items of good quality furniture and appliances completely free of charge.

Having our efforts acknowledged on a national level is truly humbling. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey so far. Here’s to many more years of serving our community!
