Sally Pepper has been a wonderful supporter of ours ever since I taught her how to moon walk many years ago when she was doing a Michael Jackson impersonation for Derbyshire Day. Last year when we were doing our crowdfunder she championed our cause, sympathised with us when we couldn’t get work for our performers and cheered with us when we reached our target. This year she has once again been cheering us on every step of the way as we gradually brought our show to life so it was wonderful to be able to share our final production with her. It was also wonderful to get to chat to her on air all about it. I wish we had smellivision for this one because the Divine Box workshop smells so good! This is such an impressive story of turning a tiny idea into a full time business and I love it. Danielle started experimenting with bath bombs as part of another business but found that she had a real talent for it. She’s now turned that talent into a business! When I asked Danielle about their biggest order to date she told me about last Christmas and an order of 22,000 bath bombs! Each one made by hand in the workshop you see in the video!! Connekt Red may be under the big name of Vodafone but at it’s core it’s all heart. A true local business. When I was in there Dan, the owner of Connect red, was approached very quietly by a lady who needed help with her phone. I didn’t listen too hard but something about the ring tone not being right and essentially this lady was confused that she couldn’t get her phone to do what she wanted it to do. Dan stepped aside and helped her, showing her how to use her phone and where to go, then he fixed her phone as she wanted. She was over the moon, she had been struggling and just needed that help. She asked how much she could pay him but he just smiled and move in. Dan and his team genuinely want people to stay connected and want to help anyone who is struggling with tech and I think that’s just fantastic. Thats what allows companies like to become part of the community. It’s more important now than ever before for us to be able to use technology to connect with people but it can be very intimidating when you don’t know what to do. These guys not only make it seem easy but they are ready and willing to help. We’re so pleased to have them on board.
