Happy 3rd birthday to the princess of the house Aurah 💚❤️ Loved beyond words
Hi folks, do your best to keep yourself protected at the minute. COVID doing the rounds again and it is not good. I’ve been feeling so unwell the last 3 weeks off and on. Physically & mentally .. last week at my concert I really didn’t know how I was going to get through it when I woke on the Friday morning. Really fluey, pains, headache, constant hoarseness, back pain level 10 and vertigo… going on now 2 weeks. Last night I woke in the middle of the night struggling to breathe and really unwell, went to A&E today and turns out I have infections going on, laryngitis, a thing called quinsy and also discovered I have Covid today. Really sorry to the venues I have let down the last few weeks and tonight also but I am so unwell. Fingers crossed I come round to myself with the medication for heading away on holidays on Friday. I had a cracker audition lined up in London on Monday morning for a fantastic Irish show touring the UK & Ireland and had a great feeling about it.. flights & hotel booked but I kept talking myself out of it all week.. making excuses not to go etc, my body just knew something wasn’t right. But, that’s life. Everything for a reason! ✨
Anyway, sorry to the venues again and hopefully few days I’ll be back to myself. C
Really thankful to Derry Journal & Laura Glenn, on their review of my sold out show last week in 💚❤️
REVIEW: Conor McGinty's 'Revival' is a stunning show that had the audience shouting for more! ‘Revival’ is one that most definitely stirs the emotions. The Derry singer’s original new show had its debut in the gorgeous surroundings of The Ebrington Hotel and over the course of the night, guests’ emotions veered from tears, to laughter, to shouts of joy and they were all eventually on their feet, singing and dancing.
The show combines Conor’s self-penned story of two fictional characters, Danny Sullivan and Nancy Bradley. The ‘Voice from Beyond,’ tells the couple’s love story in stages, with Conor then performing a song or songs that correlate with the part of the story that has just been told.
It works extremely well and keeps the audience engaged and waiting for more. The story is based in the 1940s, but the music combined both the traditional and modern. Conor’s voice is outstanding. His soaring vocals led to more than one standing ovation.
From the emotive ‘Grace’ to the iconic ‘The Town I Loved So Well,’ and the lively ‘The Rattlin’ Bog,’ each song was perfectly chosen. A special mention must go to the seven-piece live band, who were flawless and really did ‘raise the roof’.
The setting of The Ebrington Hotel allowed for a certain intimacy that made the event seem like a personal concert and Conor’s friendly, easy way with his audience only added to this.
‘Revival’ also very much celebrates Derry, its people, talent and history. By the end, the audience were on their feet, singing and dancing with each other like they were all old friends.
Conor has spoken about taken ‘Revival’ on tour and he definitely should. Make sure you don’t miss it if he does.

Last nights BBC Northern Ireland - Newsline! 📺
Glad to have raised much needed awareness on this issue. A lot of men out there suffering in silence & thankfully many men & boys coming forward since the feature aired. Hopefully this is the start of all men and boys reaching out, asking for help and breaking the stigma! ❤️

For those that missed it throughout the day on BBC Radio Ulster/BBC Radio Foyle/BBC Northern Ireland and can’t get access to BBC Sounds, here is my full interview with Dean from the BBC & commentary from Dr. Joe McEvoy and Danny Quigley - Reaction today has been unreal .. full story will be on tonight’s 6.30pm news on BBC1 💚❤️
Really glad that other men out there feel like they have a voice now on this issue .. 💪🏻
Feeling very emotional this morning. The amount of messages coming through after my interview with Dean Martin McLaughlin on BBC Radio Foyle/BBC Radio Ulster is really blowing my mind. So glad that speaking out and doing this is helping other men.
You can watch my interview with Dean on BBCNI 1 on Newsline at 1.30pm & 6.30pm on the TV or part of it at the link below. Thanks to all the team at Radio Foyle for how they put this piece together. I’m currently sitting outside the clinic that I got my surgery in, in Belfast, for my final post op check up with my consultant. Things feeling very full circle ⚪️
Thanks to Dr Joe Mc Evoy for his contribution on the programme and also to Danny Quigley who described me as an “Idol” … I think that is the biggest compliment I have ever received in my life from a man of his stature, with everything he has done for mental health awareness and all his successes and his story.
One final thought: watch the interview & read the story at the link here. If your another man or boy that is affected by this issue then reach out to those around you… it will be the best thing you have ever done. This issue aside… if your a man or a woman and your just not feeling yourself, you feel down or anxious or mabye really distressed about whatever issues you are facing in your life… know there is always a glimmer of hope, there is always someone out there who will want you to get better and you are worth more than you know. Speak to your family, a friend, a professional … and talk. Just talk. Sometimes it just takes us to take a step back, look around and breath. Start hour by hour before you get to day by day. There are really good professionals out there that can help you get through what it is you need to overcome & you are worth just as much as the next person on the street. Life can be cruel at times but there is always hope 💚
Head up and move forward, it’s all we can do ❤️
Male breast reduction surgery: Derry man's 'more confident future' A man who struggled with a condition that causes enlarged breast tissue went privately for surgery.
I sat down recently with Dean Martin McLaughlin from the BBC to talk about my experience with since the age of 13 & the impact it had on me + my recent surgery at The Fitzwilliam Clinic in Belfast. Tune in tomorrow at 1.30pm (Irish Time) on BBC1NI BBC Northern Ireland to see the interview with Dean on the TV 📺
📻🛜 It will also be the lead story on BBC Radio Foyle at 8.30am on the radio & you can watch online also on the BBC website & social media from tomorrow morning ❤️
When Dean reached out to do this, I immediately said yes, as I want to raise as much awareness about this condition as possible going forward and anyone that has followed my story so far will know how important it is to me to try and be a voice to & for other men and boys dealing with gyno .. especially those that have had no control over the condition affecting them. Hopefully this is another step in that direction 💚

🍃: Some of the best advice I got recently I’ve put into a diagram below. Life can be up and down a lot and we all experience regular cocktails of emotions week to week. Try this out below whenever you need. Will work at some level, the more you practice the better you become at managing and controlling your thoughts and feelings - Going to be sharing some of the tips I’ve learnt over the last few years doing CBT and also as I go along in my Physcotheraphy studies/training 💚📚

5 weeks post Gynaecomastia surgery tomorrow …. 🤯 **Trigger warning with some of the before photos** Infection gone and the wound that I’ve been having difficulty with on my right hand side is almost sorted out thanks to great care from all the nurses at The Fitzwilliam. Haven’t had any fainting episodes in a week now thank God! Post surgery has been a lot more difficult than I thought it would have been but so worth it! 7lb off also with walking and healthy eating 😊 Back to Belfast to see the consultant next week for my 6 week check up and hopefully get signed off and the all clear to get back to normal life. To be honest, mentally it hasn’t sunk in yet and I’m still up to all my old habits (Holding cushions in front of myself, hunched over, pulling at my shirts) - I don’t think my brain has realised quite yet that the gyno is gone and I’m free from it … probably will take a bit of time but I am absolutely delighted with the results so far… The relief that I have actually had this sorted out can’t be put into words. Best feeling! Dealing with this as a man is such a strange and frustrating issue especially when you had no control over it and the hormone/Genetic issue that caused it. Finding it difficult to look at the before photos and the memories and feelings that assosiate with them. Will continue to bring you all on this journey and raise vital awareness for a horrible condition in men that needs to be talked about more and the stigma removed. Some exciting news coming this week also 📺 You can read all about my Gynaecomastia journey here: https://tinyurl.com/ConorMcGynaecomastiaJourney ❤️💚
