I couldn’t not share this refresh on the grid.

A touch up with a deeper tone on the roots.
Then a quick semi refresh of two colours on the mid lengths and ends of the hair !!

All finished with a trim on the base length, face framing shaping and some long layers added in to help with that extra bounce when curling.

✨PRINCESS CUT✨

Today I had a gorgeous little girl in who wanted to brave a chop.
Her buddy at school recently cut off her hair so she wanted to do the same.

When she came in today I told her and her mum that she’d have enough hair to donate.

She now has the chop she wanted. Both her and mum love it !!!
And she will be sending her hair off to the little princess trust that makes wigs for children up to the age of 21. ✨

Today I am celebrating the life of an amazing woman whose life was taken far too soon — But those fortunate enough to have known her, knows she wouldn’t have wanted people to be sad.

She had such a huge love for life. Her friends/colleagues. And her family.

She was a beautiful lady inside and out.

Someone who loved to be different and encouraged others never to be ashamed of who they are and how they wanted to be.

Everyone she met she managed to make feel important and loved.
She was a special kind of person.

She always had time for so many people. And thought so much of others.

She will be dearly missed but never forgotten - I will always think of her every time I put on a pair of my Dr.Martens.

“SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER”

It’s been too long since I’ve done a work post.
So when I had these sisters in today for some summer fun colours I couldn’t resist sharing.

The eldest two both had their hair pre lightened first. (Bleached)

The youngest didn’t need to be pre lightened as she had a light enough base already (plus she’s still little 🥹)

They all chose their own colour.

The eldest two will have their hair fade back to the pre lightened bleach. Then it will be cut out just before school.
The youngest will have hers fade away naturally.

How fab do they all look ?!

I have so many clients that would love to try something new / different with their hair - but some feel they’re “too old”.

YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD !!

Today I had a lovely lady who’s been toying around with the idea of pink.
She has naturally white hair and I told her this is the perfect base for fashion colours.

We chose the hot pink but diluted it to a pastel colour for her first session. With soft weaves.
She knows this will fade/disappear quicker after a few washes but it’s a starting point for her.

Safe to say, she loves it !! ✨

Next time we’re going to do them as slices for more coverage and with a bit less dilution for more of a pop of colour.

How could I not share this edgy new hair do I’ve done on my lovely lady today!

She has naturally curly hair and it’s super thick - the amount of about three people on one head. And it’s ringlet curls. (So jealous)

Each visit my client has changed it up and gotten shorter in style each time !
Last time it went from shoulder length to a pixie cut - this time a modern Mohawk !!! 🔥

It’s a super versatile cut that she can get multiple looks from.
Eg. She can quiff it. Where it naturally curly. Push it more to one side. Or even part it down the centre once there’s more length - for a hidden undercut !

How stunning is this blonde ?!

A full head of bleach highlights.
- Lower percentage at the back/bottom.
Higher percentage at the front/top.

No toner needed.
Just cleansed with purple shampoo and rinsed with a conditioning mask.

Finished of with a cut/straighten.
- We’ve been working at growing out the layers to a one length cut.
Today we got there !!
(but we’ve still kept with some face framing shaping at the front for softness)

I love it !!

*SILVER*

This week I had one of my lovely ladies in who wanted to be a silver/grey tone to help keep up with her naturally lighter roots.

I used two tones from the “gothics” range and applied them both freehand. Giving a natural multi-tonal look.

The areas where you can see a warmer/brunette tone is where her hair is naturally darker - over time this will lighten and blend more with the rest. But still adds to the natural appearance.

The appointment was finished off with a short sharp cut. Straightened.

I love it when / comes in to visit me.

I always get to do something that packs a punch of colour !

We’ve had white blonde. We’ve had a peekaboo rainbow.
we’ve had blue and pink underneath.
- And the last few times we have been playing about with coppers !!

I have to say, the copper tones on her hair is one of my favourites !!! 🧡

We are currently steering away from bleach and building up the integrity of the hair and gaining length.
Just look at that mirror shine !!

We can’t wait for the summer when we will be adding more intense/vibrant slices.

🔷NOT JUST FOR WOMEN🔷

I feel colouring your hair can have a stigma that it’s just for women to do.
But I have a few gents that either want to enhance their colour, have a bit of fun with colour or target the greys/ cover them up.
It’s nothing to be ashamed and we should all feel that if we want to tweak or boost our colour - then we should be able to do so without judgement whether you are male or female !

Today I’ve had one of my male clients in for his top up of highlights and a fresh trim.

I did a Tsection of low percentage bleach highlights.
(In the winter I scatter them throughout the back area to give an extra boost)

I feel doing this technique gives a sun kissed lift and targets those areas that start to go grey/white earlier than the rest.
(Around the hairline are the front - especially near the temples and side burns)

During the summer months this client will only need a light touch up - based on personal preference due to the sun lifting/bleaching the natural base colour.
In the winter it’s more likely to need a regular appointments.

We have some lovely people in our village and the surrounding areas offering up their time and vehicles to transfer donations for those fleeing Ukraine to Poland.

I’m happy to use my salon as a central point / base for people to bring in their donated items.

It’s expected to be going on for a little while and I’ve been told that the donations dropped into my salon will be picked up on Friday mornings.

The salon is open 6 days a week (half day Tuesdays).

Please take time to read the items listed in the photo.

👩🏼BLONDES👩🏼

We’re only part way through the week and already I’ve had two transformations.

The first image: Created this evening.
I had a lovely girl in who wanted to get as light as possible but still have her hair looking soft/natural.

She previously had a Tsection (done elsewhere) but wanted more colour and also wanted it brighter/lighter.

I did a full head of foils.
Weaved. Two bleach to one darker blonde tone.
- I also packed the t section area in as baby lights to get as much coverage as possible (without doing slices that can sometimes look striped)
She also had her layers tidied up/ thinned out along with the shaping around her face.

You can really see the difference in the before and after picture.

We were both very happy with the outcome and she knows that it can still get blonder again on her next appointment if she wishes !

The second image: created yesterday.

I had one of my regular clients in for a boost up of her blonde (unfortunately she had to reschedule her previous appointment due to other circumstances - so when she got to me, the colour was over due) But it was good to pack in a large amount of foils at a slightly higher peroxide level during her half head colour appointment to really get some more lift action.
All done as bleached weaves.

She had her hair finished with a minimal trim on the base length to keep it healthy and a few layers added in for more movement.

Again, you can really see the difference in the before and after shots !

💕A TOUCH OF PINK💕

Today I had my lovely client in for her usual top up of highlights.

In-between appointments my client tends to play about with semi pastel tones on her hair. Usually a mix of pink drops and purple shampoo to give a Smokey hair tone.

At the basin today we discussed doing a semi colour over her highlights whilst she was in for her appointment.

I used the affinage colour dynamics range.
Magic magenta and a dot of pure purple - diluted/with pastelizer

*To make this colour last longer - wash hair as little as possible. Rinse shampoo with lukewarm water and conditioner with cold water.
Avoid heated styling tools*

I’m not a Womens salon only!
- I do gents hair too!!
Along with teenage lads and little boys !

At an estimate I do 60% ladies/girls hair and 40% mens/boys hair.

But I always recommend my gents pre booking their next appointments in advance. Possibly even two or three of them.
(Some of my gents book up for the year)

I can offer:
Clipper cuts.
Scissor cuts.
A combination of the two.
Skin fades.
Beard trims.
Eyebrow trims and ear hair removal.

✨THE SAME - BUT DIFFERENT✨

These two images were taken in the same place at the same time of day but from different angles.
The left is with more outside/natural light coming though the window.
The right is showing artificial light (salon lighting)

I love showing my clients their hair from the station I’ve worked at and some I take to my salon doorstep to see it again in another lighting.

My lovely client decided to break up her blonde with warmth.
She had two caramel/copper tones in with her blonde.
But I alternated the blonde between each colour to still keep it light.
Next time my client has the option to tweak the process and to have less of the bleach highlight or to take out the deeper lowlight (dependant on the end goal)

But I love how this has come out already and can’t wait for the next step !!

⚠️Salon Closed Today⚠️

With Storm Eunice expected to hit Devizes and Wiltshire today with winds of up to 80mph+ forecast for the morning through to the evening, I have made the tough decision to close the salon.

I don’t wish for clients to make a journey to see me and put themselves at risk/ in danger.

Nor do I want clients to arrive to the salon and then for me to potentially have no water or electric.

Stay safe - stay warm - stay home !

Today I had my lovely client in for a half head of foils. With a tidy up of her ends.

- I did a smokey lowlight and bleach highlights !

She has such long, thick and healthy hair - especially after a fresh trim on her ends !!

I love it !!

🎨✨BALAYAGE✨🎨

Balayage can be as high or as low maintenance as you want.
- I have some clients that come in every 3, 6, 9 or even 12 months for theirs.
The higher up the hair strand, the brighter the money piece (if you choose to have one) and the bigger the contrast between your natural / coloured hair will determine how often you will need it touching up/ boosting.
Some clients can get away with just a toner top up in between appointments !

My client last had her hair done around November time.
- She has a blonde money piece in the fringe that needed topping up and this time she opted to have more blonde boosted throughout.
Along with a good trim/ all over toner.

I call this BRONDE.
A soft balance/tone between blonde and brunette.

🌼Changes from March🌼

From the 1st of March I will be going back to having more than one household in at a time.

Likely hood is that if you’re in a for a colour - You will have another colour client or cutting client booked between you.
If you’ve booked a cut appointment - You will be done during the development time of someone else’s colour.

If you wish to still have a 1-1 appointment and a guaranteed slot with no one else in the salon, this is possible at an extra charge (which will be added to you bill)

When I have both salon chairs in use I will be asking that you wear a face mask.
If you’re ever in 1-1 with me and no one else happens to be in the salon, it is your choice as to whether you wear a mask.
(I will be wearing a mask)

If I come down with the virus - I will not be putting any clients at risk by still coming into work.

Here’s a few snippets of a gorgeous colour I did a little while ago but haven’t yet shared.

To me this is one of my favourite pieces of colour work.

This client let me have free rein on her hair.
So I bleached and toned up her top section then used the affinage colour dynamics green on the underneath.

My client loved her hair and even purchased the green to top it up herself at home !

I truly feel this colour work breaks down the barriers in showing that an unusual colour with the correct placement can look absolutely amazing !

When I tell clients I have used the colour green on someone’s hair - they’re all shocked and raise their brows.
But once I show them these photos … they love it !

I need to prioritise my regular clientele - Especially over the up and coming Christmas period.
