We’ve been so thankful for your support since the shop in Joy Street closed in 2021 and especially since Roy’s sudden passing in March last year. However it is time for us to have a bit of a break and look at our plans for the future and make some big decisions.

As such we are taking a well earned break until after Easter (11th April) and our online shop will be closed during this time.

Thank you for all your orders in the run-up to Christmas! We're doing our best to get everything out the doors to you as smoothly as possible, but with the Royal Mail strikes things are taking a little longer to get through... We've been sending some orders by Evri and they seem to be getting through much more quickly 🤞🏻 All the major courier services are super busy, so don't leave it too late to place your orders as we can't guarantee delivery times in the current circumstances unfortunately.

Super excited to be a sponsor of ArtMakers "New Atlantic Wave" exhibition which kicks off tomorrow (Friday 16th) at St Mary's Hall, Appledore. Organised by ArtMakers and part of both Appledore Book Festival and Devon Open Studios this is a unique opportunity to experience the work of over 30 emerging and established artists.

A tough day for all the family as we say goodbye to our building in Joy Street, Barnstaple following its sale. An ever-present part of our family for many generations, from Roy & Jacky visiting the shop in the 60s (then owned by their grandfather, Edward Woollard since 1946) through to Roy’s grandchildren coming to see grandad before the shop closed last summer.

Who remembers our original mail order catalogues from back in the day?! What a different time that was!
