Hi everyone

The multi sport session for December 2022. Please see dates and times below.

Merry Christmas everyone.

06/12/2022

***IMPORTANT UPDATE****
Due to the current weather warnings Kirklees Council, Housing Solutions Service will trigger SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Protocol) from today Tuesday 6th December 2022 and currently it is planned that it will end the morning of 12th December 2022.

This provision will be reviewed on Monday morning 12th December 2022, when they will confirm if SWEP provision is to end or be extended.

Our SWEP is activated when temperatures are forecast to fall to zero degrees or below for three consecutive nights or where there is particular adverse weather. SWEP is an additional ā€˜safety netā€™ for those in danger of rough sleeping. The Councilā€™s Rough Sleeping Initiative team, homelessness partners and street outreach groups operate throughout the year assisting many at risk of sleeping rough. This includes facilitating access to emergency accommodation and support with addressing poor health and substance misuse. SWEP provides quicker access to an emergency bed while we continue to work with individuals.

Should you need to access any overnight accommodation for anyone that is faced with rough sleeping in Kirklees.

During office hours ( Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00) anyone at risk of rough sleeping should call 01484 221350

Regards

Cllr Cathy Scott

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Does anybody know of any organisations selling or donating tables and chairs. We are asking on behalf of Ashworth Lodge who are looking to open up the building during winter months to provide a free Warm Space for local residents in the Ashworth and Eightlands area. Many thanks

08/11/2022

Chickenley Community Centre will be opening its doors to provide a safe, warm space for local families over the winter months. This will be where people can sit and get a free cup of tea or coffee and we hope it helps with the cost of living crisis now utility bills have spiralled out of control.

We will offering this each Monday to Wednesday between 11am until 3pm starting Monday 14th November. Please feel free to drop in for a warm and a free cuppa.
