ANNOUNCEMENT - NEW CLASSES STARTING!
Starting From September 2024 we are starting a New Day of Classes.
Friday afternoon's at the Ladygrove Community Centre in Didcot.
Age 3-4 Ballet 4.15pm
Preparatory Ballet (Age 4-5) 4.45pm
Preparatory Tap (Age 4-6) 5.15pm

It is a very hot day today, and the hall will be warm, so please bring your child along in whatever they will be most cool and comfortable in as long as they can still dance in it. And please bring water.

Summer Workshop Info - Monday 5th August 2024:
We will be focusing on improving technique, strength & flexibility for this year as come September we shall be starting Show Dances and the more prepared we are the better! So if you would like to come along for the day to work on these things pop me a message.

Laura Powley School of Dance - Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire Laura Powley School of Dance offers dance classes in the style of Ballet, Tap & Modern Jazz with a focus on enjoyment and technique.

My Top Tips for doing a Ballet Bun!
1- Use a mixture of Hair Pins & Grips
2- Always start with the hair in a low ponytail
3- Twist or Plait the hair before wrapping around to make the bun shape. This will keep the hair together better and mean you should need less grips. I would recommend plaiting for long hair.
BONUS TIP - Hair Spray & Bun nets are your friends! Always finish with a bun net the same colour as the hair (especially if you're doing an exam or performance) it will contain any fly aways as will hair spray.
Hope these tips were helpful, the more you do them, the easier it will become!

Grade 2 Ballet have been getting on really well with learning the syllabus after moving up from Grade 1. So if you're in Grade 2 Well Done! If you have any friends that you think would like to try out this class then please give them my information.
A little incentive for you; if you bring a friend and they sign up for the term then you will get one lesson free the following term. This is our 'Refer A Friend' scheme, works well for your friends and for you!
This scheme works across all students & all classes.
