Seiko World Firsts Archive: The TV Watch

The 1980s were a time for rapid technology growth; for imaginative opportunities in furthering innovation and for telly addiction - what was on the box was a source for discussion, a family appointment and a source for learning, fun and discovery.
In 1982, the dream of being able to take a TV with you wherever you go was realised with the world's first ever TV watch.

Measuring in at only 1.2 inches, the Seiko TV watch allowed you to watch TV whenever and wherever. Paired with a tuner and headphones, this watch featured alarm functionality, chronograph timing for measuring elapsed time, FM Radio, and calendar capability - as well as telling the time.

With a newly developed LCD display, the Guinness World Records officially certified the Seiko TV Watch as the 'World's Smallest Television.'
