Druitt Hall
Full info at www.druitthall.org.uk Established in 1953.
Druitt Hall is administered by Druitt Hall Community Association under a lease until September 2027 from Christchurch Town Council.
A successful open day at DH where the Friends of Druitt Hall was launched and free-of-charge tables provided to promote various Druitt Hall user groups, the Friends of Druitt Gardens, Waggy Tails charity (thanks Denise for front-of-house welcome duties), Christchurch Residents Association and Christchurch History Society. It also gave residents the chance for a chat with the town CSASS Officer, Jen.
We are very grateful to Christchurch History Society for providing such an excellent display (see photo) of the history of the Druitts, Gardens and Hall and for providing such an engaging history quiz.
Quiz and raffle prize winners can expect a call this week from our Sara.
The 'fixers' are poised - can you be helped?

Hopping into spring with the Frome Frog Patrol
Frome Frog Patrol, a local group run by volunteers dedicated to safeguarding the native amphibian population, is back conducting nightly patrols, helping frogs, toads and even newts reach their annual ancient spawning grounds on the Rodden Nature Reserve, by Asda.
Patrol groups start every evening just after dusk and, as well as helping frogs, toads, and newts across busy roads and rescuing them from drains, they also collect data that helps to assess the health of frog and toad populations throughout the UK.
For more information about the Frome Frog Patrol and how you can help, search on Facebook for ‘Frome Frog Patrol’ or send an email to them via the Froglife Toads on Roads website https://toadsonroads.froglife.org/

On 11th June, the local Coop Member Pioneer, The Green TLC and Kids and Family Cyles will be riding from Stanpit Car Park at 11.00am to Druit Gardens (Route of the former 1000 bike ride), to promote low carbon transport and personal health benefits from getting out of the cars and vans, and onto bikes.

Once in Druit Gardens from about 11.30 we will run some short demonstration rides and have a survey to ask about peopleS interest in using Cargo bike delivery for your local shopping or veg box deliveries, buying or hiring Cargo bikes and cycle maintainence and more.

Interesting view of the new McDonalds building under way at Bailey Bridge. The white rectangles show the building's footprint. The remaining area (at least as large again) within the fencing is used for construction. And this site has an accessway straight off the public road!
Thank goodness Christchurch Town Council haven't inflicted this on Druitt Gardens.
Well - we're getting to grips with Facebook. It's like being "Lost in France" (like Bonnie Tyler) without much of a map.
Slowly slowly learning how to manage this page.
Please also see new page for Friends of Druitt Gardens!
This is for all the supporters of DH, over all the past 10 years, the 10 Trustees past and present, the volunteers who have worked so hard, and all our loyal hirers. Looking forward to more improvements!
