The training continues… Day 2 / 2nd run in 4 and a half years 😂 It was a tougher run today due to the heat and humidity but even though I only ran 2km I felt much better than yesterday. That gives me hope that once I’m back in the cold and wet uk I’ll be able to up my distance and pace as I’ve always preferred getting hot in the cold. #littlebylittle #progressnotperfection #challenge
In April 2019 I managed to drag my ass over the finish line of a half marathon (I’m not a runner) Since then I haven’t run. A few nights ago I came across a challenge that a local Bournemouth group was planning for the end of January. It sounded pretty extreme to me so like the dickhead that I am I signed up… (4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours!) (I did this for a couple of reasons, 1, I’ve always been an all or nothing kind of guy. B, I thought it might help me get back into a shape other than a bloaty beer and cheese monster. and 7, I thought it would be a good way to take my mind off what will undoubtedly be a depressing, cold, wet and dark January after I return from this hot, sweaty beaut of a place called Australia! Let the training begin… (I’m not back in the U.K until the 8th of January and will probably require some motivation/extra training to be even close to being ready for this event so hit me up and good luck to everyone getting involved) ….. #running #fitness #challenge

After what feels like months of graft, blood, sweat, tears and a whole host of other physical and mental strain I can honestly say I’m actually in a state of relaxation, bliss, zen and oneness with myself and the universe. We all have a breaking point and I’m pretty sure most of the time we exceed that breaking point out of stubbornness, necessity or some kind of built in self destruct button that we don’t even know we have …but now I’m here, here in my spiritual home for the next 3 days and I’m not going to let anything or anybody stress me out or ruin this state of being that I’ve found myself enjoying this evening.
