A lovely bathroom completed in time for Christmas with John lever plumbing 👌

Todays job a light dustless sand down and getting ready for paint, plasterers finished feathering in where the old radius ceiling was. Ideally would have loved to skim the whole project but we are working in a tight budget and the walls are not to bad 💪

Emergency call out for no running water and immersion had run dry, stripped the valve apart lots of lime scale. I was able to clean and restore water swiftly and attended within 30 minutes so no damage to the copper tank. Happy customer 💪👍

Fitted some new photocell Saxby up down lights for a customer in Parley ready for those dark nights 👌

A Rather interesting call out to a overflowing hopper drain, Overflowing in front of the customers door. First inspection it clearly looks like someone has butchered the hopper to install this drain for the bath and its just not draining quick enough, Then the fun begins 🤣 Whist i had the Hopper off to install a new one i went through the pipework and was greeted by Donald Trumps toupee 🤮. Cleaned out the pipes with a hose rebuilt the drain with a new hopper and adjusted the pipe work. I'm sure it took more effort to do this wrong in the first place 🙃

🔥 lovely piece of live edge installed over the last couple of days with Coastal Carpenters 🔥

Many people probably already know this but I’m no longer on checkatrade as the pricing is becoming ridiculous and because of the type customer is it now attracting. I have met some very nice people to work for and equally some scary out of touch people.

The bit that takes the biscuit for me and has become the final straw is, being bribed after doing a top rated job and someone wanting extra work done to then be threatened with a bad review if I didn’t do it under the same agreed price and time scale.

The other painful one is finding dodgy workmanship and having to put it right under regulations and customers not wanting to pay for it and then saying to checkatrade that I didn’t charge the agreed rate.

We only give out estimates and I can not and will not be held responsible for someone else’s bad workmanship. So you sit on the fence about fixing it for free so you don’t get a negative review or leaving something dangerous which is a situation I don’t want to be in anymore. I want to be able to do my job safely and not in fear of unrealistic people writing reviews on electrical/building faults that have to be put right by regulations.
