Here's what's pouring at the bar today.

Personal picks of the day are from Dark Revolution 'Reboot' one of, if not the best gluten free beer I've tried so far. And from Dark Element Brew Co 'Hysteria' fresh, fruity, hoppy with an excellent mouthfeel and with a slight dry bitter finish.

Dark Revolution have truly done a madness and really outdone themselves with this brew. I rate this as highly as 'In The Mix' on par with it even.

'Let's Go!' is a wonderfully hoppy and tropical IPA, bursting with citrus notes, a smooth creamy body finishing with a piney bitterness, that reminds you that at 6.7% this IPA does not mess around, you better put some respect on it's name.

This is stunning from Dark Revolution. Thick, hoppy, citrus East Coast style vibes and gluten free.

Here's what's pouring today.

Must say this batch of Pupa from Vibrant Forest Brewery tastes very similar to the og Pupa in terms of juicy flavours and bitterness.

As always plenty of different types of cask, keg and ciders to choose from.

And also a couple of new additions to our beer fridge this week. Some really tasty sours from Yonder Brewing & Blending, and two tasty and hoppy IPA/Dipa from Gravity Well Brewing Company and Dark Revolution

A nice little review....

Who wants Dark Revolution to rebrew 'In The Mix'? Potentially the best beer they have ever brewed and in my top 5 beers of the year. Well good news! We have the last known keg of In The Mix and it's just been connected. Super hoppy, full of citrus and pine flavours with a balanced bitterness. This is a standout beer.

Well, it happened! The first Christchurch Repair Café!

Thanks to all who attended; repairers, helpers, and of course 'customers' who brought their items to be repaired.

The next café will be held at Saxon Bar on Wednesday the 10th July, between 10am and midday.

Keep an eye on the official page, for further details, including the repair skills that will be available.

We all really enjoyed today, and are very much looking forward to the next event.

Hope to see many of you then.

Hello, you lovely people.

Well, it is actually going to happen. Rough and ready it may be (hey, we've never been polished!), but save the date.

Next Thursday the 13th June will see the inaugural Christchurch Repair Café running at Saxon Bar, between 10am and midday.

If you have any small items that need repair, to save them from the bin, pop along and let's see if our team of repairers can lend them a new lease of life.

As things progress, I promise that we will become more organised. We are planning a dedicated page, a list of event dates along with the repair skills that will be in attendance, and a booking in form so that we can be better prepared to get your stuff working again.

All repairs are free, although donations are most welcome, to help cover the costs associated with the venture.

If you have nothing to fix but are passing by anyway, please just drop in and say 'Hi'.

HUGE apologies, but we won't be open today. I've been poleaxed by a flu like bug, which came on in the middle of the night like somebody throwing a switch.

Sadly, none of the rest of the team are able to cover the shift due to other commitments.

Really sorry, y'all. Hoping that normal service will resume tomorrow.

The initial step on the road for a Christchurch Repair Café has been taken..... And we will be running the very first actual Café on the 13th of June!

Yes, short notice, I know, but we decided not to become victims of procrastination, and go JDFI, instead.

The FIRST part of the help we need is from all those lovely people that previously offered their skills; please take one pace forward if you can make yourself available from 10am to 12pm (plus set up and close down time) on Thursday the 13th of this month.

This event will be small, so I think we are looking for about another four to six volunteer repairers.

The second part of the request is for people to come along with items that require fixing. So to all you lovely folk that (like me) do not have the technical skills to make stuff better, but think it's a good idea, if you have something lurking at the back of the cupboard that you would like to resurrect, you now know the time, date, and place 😁

Full details will be published shortly, but let's get this thing rolling, eh?
