Full Time Cafe Assistant

The Tea Junction will be under new management soon and are looking for a FULL TIME Cafe Assistant to join our team. Hours of work are approximately 35 per week. Barista experience would be desirable. Life at the Tea Junction is fast paced but fun & enjoyable. We’re looking for someone with energy, flexibility & commitment and someone who can demonstrate common sense.

Primary duties will include:
‐ general customer service from greeting customers to service of food & drinks
‐ preparation/serving of coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees or teas
- waiting on and clearing tables
- washing dishes

After 9 wonderful years of brewing tea and slicing cake, sharing hugs, stories, laughter and tears, it is with mixed emotions that we announce our upcoming departure from of our much loved Tea Junction in May next year. Our lease is up in May 2025, and while it's bittersweet to say goodbye, we're excited about the opportunity to pass the venue to new owners. In its current format the site would lend itself to a superb evening dining & cocktail venue.

As you will know we’ve built up a loyal customer base over the years. Sadly, as with many other catering establishments the prosperous days are becoming sparse. Rising wage costs, coupled with a turbulent inflationary world have meant falling revenue making it increasingly difficult to sustain the concept in its current format.

Food Assembly Person

The Tea Junction are looking for a food assembly person to join our team. Experience in a food prep area would be essential. Life at the Tea Junction is fast paced but fun & enjoyable. We’re looking for someone with energy, flexibility & commitment and someone who can demonstrate common sense.

Weekend working is essential. Primary duties will include:

‐ plating sandwiches and salads using pre-prepared ingredients
- putting together orders for breakfast and lunch items, soups, panini, jacket potatoes
‐ assembly of afternoon tea stands using prepared items
‐ preparing both front & back of house for the working day
‐ general customer service from greeting customers to service of food & drinks
‐ operating the till from time to time
