Before and after of the instrument cluster screen fault.

Bit of a different one this evening. An instrument cluster from a 2001 Volvo S60.
The p2 platform instrument clusters suffer from odd failures such as message screen inoperative or text not appearing correctly.
Gauges not working or clock demons (time fast forwarding or rewinding)
This one had a matrix style scrolling text on the message screen and intermittent things not working such as handbrake warning lamp and seat belt lamp not illuminating which are essential for an MOT.
I stripped the cluster down to the PCB board and reworked the Motorola chip on the board wich is common to cause these faults.
It's now all back together along with some upgraded cluster bulbs to brighten it up a bit.

As you can see I'm not afraid to take on all sorts or things.

A recent job done a few weeks ago on a customers xbox one. The console had never been opened or cleaned in its 10 year lifespan and it was sat in a dusty smokers room the entire time. It also had a can of energy drink spilled inside it at some point in its life.
Full strip down and clean to remove all the dust, tar, grime and hair along with some fresh thermal paste on the chip and she's good as new.
