The Salon
I am a Hairdresser with over 10 years experience Specialising in Bespoke Colouring, Precise Cutting and Bridal Up-dos.
I just want to make you all aware of the effects of excessive use of Dry Shampoo !!
Frequent use of dry shampoo can lead to buildup on the scalp, which may clog hair follicles and potentially cause irritation or inflammation. This buildup can also affect the natural balance of oils on the scalp, leading to dryness or excess oiliness, depending on the individual. Over time, these factors could contribute to HAIR THINNING or other scalp issues. It's best to use dry shampoo in moderation and occasionally rather than weekly.. Dry shampoo itself doesn't directly cause thinning hair, but excessive use or improper application can lead to buildup on the scalp. It's essential to use dry shampoo in moderation and follow the instructions carefully to avoid any potential issues.
Please cleanse your scalp regularly and always double shampoo to avoid buildup and maintain healthy hair.

🌞Haircare on your Sunny Vacation🌞
Taking care of your hair while on holiday in the sun is important to prevent damage from the harsh UV rays, chlorine, saltwater, and other environmental factors. Here are some tips to help you look after your hair during your sunny vacation:
Protect your hair from the sun: Just as you would protect your skin, your hair needs sun protection too. Ofcourse there's always the option to wear a hat to protect your hair and scalp from direct sunlight but there are also many hair products that contain SPF to provide an extra layer of protection.
Use a leave-in conditioner: Before heading out into the sun, apply a leave-in conditioner or a hair serum with UV filters. This will help to keep your hair moisturized and protected from the damaging effects of the sun. We stock the Milkshake incredible milk which is my personal favourite.
Rinse your hair before swimming: Before taking a dip in the pool or ocean, rinse your hair with clean water. This will help to minimize the absorption of chlorine or saltwater, which can strip your hair of its natural oils and cause dryness and damage.
Deep condition your hair: Treat your hair to a deep conditioning treatment twice a week whilst on holiday to replenish moisture and nourish your locks. Look for products that are specifically designed for sun-damaged hair or contain ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter, or argan oil.
Avoid excessive heat styling: Give your hair a break from heat styling tools like blow dryers, curling irons, and straighteners, as the sun already exposes your hair to heat. Opt for a natural style and embrace the wavy or curly look.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your body and hair hydrated from within. Hydration plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy hair, especially in hot and dry climates.
Minimize hair tie usage: Avoid using tight hair ties or elastic bands that can cause breakage. Instead, opt for gentle hair accessories like scrunchies or hair clips to keep your hair off your face.
Trim your hair: Consider getting a trim before your vacation to eliminate split ends and ensure your hair is in its best condition. Trimming will also help prevent further damage and promote healthier hair growth.
Remember, prevention is key when it comes to maintaining healthy hair in the sun. By following these tips and being mindful of sun exposure and hair care, you can enjoy your holiday without sacrificing the health and beauty of your hair.

I would like all my clients to know you can talk to your hairdresser about your mental health
You could talk to me about your mental health if you feel comfortable doing so. It's important to remember that as a hairdressers I am a professional who is trained to listen to my clients and make you feel comfortable, so if you're struggling with mental health issues and need someone to talk to, me as your hairdresser can be a great source of support.
It's also worth noting that many people find it easier to open up to people they don't know well too well, because they feel like there's less judgment and the conversation can remain confidential. However, if you are ever concerned about confidentiality, please know that what you share with me will remain private.
Ultimately, the decision to talk to me about your mental health is a personal one, and it's important to do what feels right for you. If you do decide to open up to me as your hairdresser, I may be able to offer you emotional support, or I may be able to refer you to resources or professionals who can help.
Please don't be afraid to talk about mental health

Would layers benefit your hair ?
Yes, adding layers to your hair can benefit your hair in a number of ways. Layers can add texture, volume, and movement to your hair, making it look more dynamic and interesting. They can also help to reduce bulk and weight in thick, heavy hair, making it easier to style and manage. Layers can also help to remove split ends and damaged hair, which can improve the overall health of your hair.
Additionally, layering can be a good option for those who have thin or fine hair, as it can create the illusion of fuller, thicker hair. This is achieved by creating volume and dimension through the layering process.
It's important to note, however, that the specific benefits of layers may depend on your hair type, texture, and desired style. Consulting with your stylist can help you determine whether adding layers to your hair is a good choice for you and what kind of layering would be most beneficial for your hair. If you are thinking about having layers why not have a chat with me on your next appointment to see if this would suit your hair.

The frequency of visiting a hairdresser for hair maintenance depends on several factors, including:
Hair type: If you have curly or coily hair, you may want to visit your hairdresser every 4-6 weeks to maintain your hair's shape and texture. If you have straight or wavy hair, you may be able to wait 6-8 weeks between visits.
Hair length: shorter hair styles may require more maintenance than longer hair, and you may need to visit your hairdresser more often to keep it healthy and styled.
Hair growth: If your hair grows quickly, you may need to visit your hairdresser more frequently to keep it trimmed.
Hair styling: If you regularly style your hair with heates tools or chemical treatments, you may need to visit your hairdresser more often to keep your hair healthy.
Ultimately, the best way to determine the frequency of your hair appointments is to consult with your hairdresser. We can assess your hair type, length, and styling habits, and recommend a schedule that works best for you. If you would like some advice on your hair and keeping it in the best condition and style please feel free to get in touch and I will be more than happy to help.

How to find the right hair style for you
Finding the right hairstyle for you may depend on several factors, such as your face shape, hair type, and lifestyle. Here are a few tips to help you find a hairstyle that suits you:
Consider your face shape: Different hairstyles can flatter different face shapes. For example, a person with a round face may want to consider a hairstyle that adds height to the top of the head to elongate the face.
Take into account your hair type: Different hairstyles may work better with different hair types. For example, if you have curly hair, you may want to avoid hairstyles that require a lot of straightening.
Think about your lifestyle: Consider how much time and effort you are willing to spend on styling your hair. If you lead a busy lifestyle and don't have a lot of time to style your hair, you may want to consider a low-maintenance hairstyle.
Get inspiration from others: Look at pictures of hairstyles that you like and see if they would suit your face shape and hair type.
Consult with your stylist: I can give you advice on which hairstyles would work best for you. I can also help you to achieve the look you want.
Ultimately, the most important thing is to find a hairstyle that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

There are a few reasons why it may be beneficial to go to a professional hairdresser rather than dying your hair at home.
First, professional hairdressers have training and experience in colouring hair, which means they are more likely to achieve the desired colour and can help prevent damage to the hair.
Second, professional hairdressers have access to higher quality hair dye and tools, which can result in a more even and longer-lasting color.
Third, going to a professional hairdresser allows for a consultation beforehand, so the hairdresser can determine the best colour and technique for your hair type and desired look.
Finally, a professional hairdresser will be able to recommend products to help keep your hair looking at its best for longer.
If you've been using home dye and havnt been able you achieve the look required why not pop in for a consultation so we can achieve the desired look you have been wanting.
