Tayside Centre for Counselling -TCC
The Tayside Centre for Counselling (TCC) is a research clinic based within Abertay University which
The research undertaken at TCC is helping to explore and evidence the effectiveness of the Pluralistic Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy and clients are asked to participate in this by sharing their experiences of receiving counselling and by agreeing to their sessions being used to build an evidence base around talking therapy. Unfortunately we are unable to accept referrals from people aged under 18 years, or current Abertay University staff or students.
📣 TCC currently has space for adult clients at our FREE counselling research centre based in Abertay University.
👥Counselling can be online or face-to-face.

Safe to say, the world is a lot right now.
While we will all have our own responses to what is going on, it is important to take care of ourselves too.
Self-Care For When The News Is Terrifying It is important to consider our boundaries when it comes to the news - finding a balance between keeping informed and feeling swamped, takes some tweaking.
Happy Friday everyone!
Just in time for the weekend, we would love to share a beautiful blog written by one of our amazing counsellors Clare....
'I have never liked to wear shoes inside and even in the office I sneakily slip off my ballerina flats under my desk. I am never happier than when I can walk barefoot, especially amongst the fresh green grass and wildflowers (watching carefully that I do not tread on a resting bee). I have been known to treat my feet to the feeling of sand between my toes and I have even enjoyed the warmth of sun drenched concrete on my heels. I find that it is so important to connect to the ground that I walk upon, to get myself closer to the energy (electrons) emitted from mother earth.
Today I stood barefoot amongst the grass and quietly noticed it’s dampness, it’s wonderful wet smell, it's coolness and it’s blades tickling my feet as the wind blew across the field. Standing in silence, eyes closed and just loving the feeling of being present in that moment was replenishing.'
Note
Grounding appears to improve sleep, normalise the day–night cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, reduce stress, shift the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic toward parasympathetic activation, increase heart rate variability, speeds wound healing, and reduces blood viscosity.
