RockBlades are a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM). This is a technique that has been around for thousands of years where tools such as spoons or coins were used to scrape the body's soft tissue.
What are the benefits of blading therapy?
It is most commonly used for chronic pain. It can also be used to treat post-surgical conditions, adhesions, knots etc. When performed regularly, patients will experience a reduction in inflammation and increased range of movement. In addition to reducing pain, blading technique will improve muscle performance and prevent injury. As the effects of it excessive erythema appears immediately and stays for few hours after the treatment.
How is PNF stretching used in rehabilitation?
PNF is a stretching technique utilized to increase ROM and flexibility. PNF increases ROM by increasing the length of the muscle and increasing neuromuscular efficiency. PNF stretching has been found to increase ROM in trained, as well as untrained, individuals
