We will set off at 9am from St Andrews (East Sands) and explore all day some forgotten places and stories of the East Coast.

Picturesque Alyth in Cateran Country is a historic trading-town dating from at least the 12th century and located on the edge of the Cairngorms where Highland farmers would bring their sheep and cattle to Lowland markets.

The pretty square in the town centre and the area along the side of the burn that runs through the heart of the town have recently benefitted from an extensive refurbishment, with new information boards highlighting the history of the town – including that of the 16th century packhorse bridge and the Arches.
