DMMA are extremely pleased to announce that proffessor Billy will be teaching his popular BJJ Fundamentals Block 1 again, starting on Monday 30.09.2024 and running every Monday and Saturday until Christmas.

If you ever wanted to learn BJJ, or just polish your core skills, it's a great opportunity. 🤙

Massive thanks on behalf of all our members to The National Lottery Community Fund for the grant that they recently awarded us. It is a huge boost to us and will help us continue the work we do in Dundee and beyond. 🙏

Congratulations to DMMA coach Andrew Marley on taking bronze at the Scottish open wrestling tournament yesterday, and a huge well done to DMMA member Mark Swan, who competed in his first boxing ring match in Wishaw. Mark lost a very close decision but put on an incredible performance and did us all proud!

There will be specialised cleaning being carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in the downstairs hall, so the classes on those evenings will be held in the upstairs hall.

Upon entering the building please turn right and enter the weights area via the fire exit which will he open. Please do not go into the downstairs hall for any reason (The internal bottom door will be locked).

In addition, there will be no youth BJJ class on Wednesday.

Important member announcement...

As everyone probably knows, the club is a lot busier than it has been for some time. This a brilliant for both the charity and all of our members, however it does mean more footfall at the desk and area surrounding the mat, which can get very busy as we are still only using the downstairs hall for classes.

With this in mind, I would ask that all members please invest in a pair of sliders/flip flops to use when not on the mat. We are trying to eliminate any cross contamination from the floor to the mat, as numerous disciplines are using the same surface to train various ranges.

Important Member Announcement!

Just to inform all DMMA members that going forward we have taken the difficult decision to slightly increase our membership and class fees for all members (with the exception of kids and youths).

As a volunteer run charity we always strive to give the best coaching/training that we can, at the lowest price possible, and this is evident from the fact that our prices have been the same for the last 5 years! However, the massive utilities price increases of last year hit us very hard (and continue to do so) and we now have no choice but to try and offset this by increasing the cost of our service.

So, starting from tomorrow, an adult monthly membership will now cost £50, a young adult (16 - 18) monthly membership will cost £35, and a single taught class will cost £8 (with two classes back to back costing £12). We still believe that this price gives excellent value for money though, with 12 taught classes and an open mat every week!

We hope you all understand the reasons behind this increase and we apologise for any inconvenience this will cause. If anyone has any queries regarding this, please contact myself.

As most of you will be aware, DMMA is staffed by unpaid volunteers who all have full time jobs alongside giving up their free time to help our members. Therefore we always give them a well earned break by closing over Christmas and New Year.

This year our last day opening will be Friday 22.12.2023 and our first day of opening in the New Year will be Saturday 06.01.2024.

As always, those memberships that are paid over the period of closure with cover that member's insurance payment for the coming year.
