Time for something a little different.

Good friend, and contributer to the Tag Talk show, Boneheed purchased a few of the Fulcrum Airsoft Meteorite cap grenades to use at Ace Strike Force Dishforth events, and was kind enough to do a quick overview of them to be included in Ep 4 of Talk Talk. I've put all the footage he sent over into a little video showing off these lovely little pieces of kit.

NEW FOR FOAMFEST 2024

We’re excited to announce that SpeedDart International, in association with Foam Dart Thunder, are bringing competitive style games to FoamFest for the first time!

Speed dart is a fast-paced 5v5 game format that has its roots in the Singapore Nerf scene, and has gained great international support and interest from players and teams all over the world, now hosting international tournaments.

Between 1pm and 3pm during this year’s FoamFest convention, players will get the chance to step outside to the enclosed sports pitch to try out SpeedDart and see what this, fast-paced sports side of the hobby has to offer.

Teams and players will be able to pre-register, and we will set up a series of challenge and exhibition matches for you to take part in, or watch as a spectator. As it's FoamFest, we want to make things as accessible and safe as possible, so there will be a 130fps blaster cap for these games and we will be offering prizes for fair play and sportsmanship along the way.

Full game rules will be published here and on the FoamFest website in due course.

‼️Please note: this will not take the form of a tournament, and is intended as a fun exhibition and taster session as an introduction to SpeedDart.

Nerfmania Foxtrot - Humans Vs Zombies - 03.02.2024

I wanted to try something different for video footage from Nerfmania Foxtrox, organised at Lasermaniaqueensbury.

The video is comprised of footage from: my GoPro (worn by BlindGeekUK during the round), footage from Red Diamond, my current mobile, and Sara's old mobile. Video results did vary, but there was enough there to give an entertaining overview of the 3 rounds of BUZAN style HvZ.

It does take a lot longer to edit them together, so my apologies that the videos will not be up any where near as fast as they normally are following an event.

We had kept the last of the t-shirt designs secret and surprised Red Diamond with the gift on the way down to Nerfmania Foxtrot yesterday.

Sara and I attended Lasermaniaqueensbury for another Nerfmania events, hosted by Adam Page. I've uploaded a selection of photos taken during the HvZ rounds, and a group photo of the event.

For video coverage of this event, I'll be trying something a little different, and it might take me longer to get the finished video uploaded.

Sara and I were pleased to have been able to help out fellow players in creating a team uniform for Team Neurospicy.

After the convention on Saturday 10th August, Foam Fest will continue in an abandoned department store. Expect some intense CQB battles over two floors in this amazing venue.

Tartan Skirmish 2023 - End of year reflection.

I’d say the first year for Tartan Skirmish has been quite successful. I created the page in November 2022, after NovemberSeven Events’ Killfactory XI. It started as an idea to provide social media coverage for the Blaster-Tag hobby, and I think it’s been rather successful. We all love attending events and flinging foam, but the hobby scene has had quite an uphill struggle on its hands to get back up to speed coming out of the C-19 pandemic. Game organisers have worked diligently to find venues to host events, and breathe life again into a niche hobby that we all love.

The 2023 year in numbers:
Events attended: 12
Injuries: 1
YouTube videos produced: 25
Photos taken: approx 5000
Published (useable) photos: around 600.
FIB cap nades lost in a field at Dishforth: 1
3d printed parts broken: 4

Sara and I attended several new venues this year:
Lasermania Bradford, hosted by Adam Page.
Dishforth Airsoft, hosted by Ace Strike Force.
The Depot, Port Glasgow, hosted by Foam Dart Thunder.

Each of the venues brought something new and exciting to the hobby: High energy CQB at Lasermania, especially after the loss of The Foundry. Dishforth is not a new venue, but new to us, and proved that outdoor events bring a whole new level of gameplay. The Depot saw FDT start the Pro series of higher FPS games in Scotland, something that has been much needed for a long time, but the challenges in doing so are nowhere near fully overcome, yet!.

There have been so many amazing moments this year, that I can’t pick up my favourite.

💥 FOAM FEST 2024: SATURDAY 10 AUGUST 💥

Foam Fest is back! After resting our main event this year, we are excited to announce that Foam Fest, the UK’s Foam Dart Convention will be back next summer - bigger and better than ever.
Foam Fest 2024 will take place on Saturday 10th August, with additional games and activities across the weekend from Friday 9th - Sunday 11th.

The venue is Royal Holloway University London (RHUL) and there will be accommodation available to book onsite - details to follow soon.
