This is why you haven’t been able to stick to your New Year’s resolution
Transforming your body in just 6 weeks is impressive, but can you sustain the progress and keep improving for a year or more?
That's where the true challenge lies, and most people struggle with long-term goals.
Achieving lasting results demands consistency and patience over an extended period of time.
Those quick-fix 6-week diet plans won't equip you to manage this.
While it's great to strive for a stunning beach body in 6 weeks, isn't it even better to feel confident and look amazing all year round, without the need for constant dieting every time you go on holiday?
Swimmers look great, so do runners and so do bodybuilders
They all look great when done to a high level
You can look great doing all of these things more
It’s not the method you choose, it’s how much you put into it!
The method you choose should be the one you get some form of enjoyment from and if you put everything into it and work hard… you will look great!
Keep it simple
Find something you enjoy doing and work really fu***ng hard at it
Life has been mad busy
Not been posting much on social media other than some stories of my own training
I’ve honestly just not had the time due to everything that’s going on
Attempting hybrid training (aiming to run a marathon while maintaining my strength) as a bit of an experiment
The business has been pretty much full for sessions for the last 1-2 months
Don’t forget the full time job and mentally preparing to be become a dad
Unfortunately posting content on social media just hasn’t been the highest of priorities
This post is to give my self a good kick up the arse and be more consistent with posting content
Also a reminder that I’m still here 👋🏻 will likely have 1-2 spots for personal training available soon
Your body will adapt to the demands you place on it and ultimately do amazing things
It can run for days on end, it can lift hundreds of kilos
The catch is that you need to gradually in grease those demands and allow it time to recover and improve
Many of the Injuries we suffer from are related to ‘overuse’
Overuse doesn’t mean too much… it means to much to soon or to much for your bodies current abilities
Good programming and a gradual increase in how much you do will lead to your body being healthy and strong!
Going from barely walking 1000 steps a day to trying to run 5 miles a day is a drastic increase in load and likely to end up in injury
3 reasons your not seeing the results you want!
Are you able and willing to listen to someone else and actually apply what they’re saying?
So many people get coaches but when it comes down to it, they decide to do their own thing
‘Aww they want me to do more steps but I’m just going to do some cardio anyway’
This completely defeats the purpose
You need to listen and apply all of the advice/plan you are given, not just the parts you like
A large part of coaching is identifying weak areas that need addressed, whether that be diet based or training based
If you continue to avoid the things you don’t like you’ll continue to have the same results… or lack thereof
3 reasons you keep getting injured
Your lifestyle determines how you look
If you want 6 pack abs, you need to live a 6 pack lifestyle
That’s the problem… most people want the 6 pack abs but want to live an eat whatever they want lifestyle
You can’t have both
If your not happy with how you look, take a look at your day to day habits and start changing them to something that will promote a positive change
Injuries are going to happen, how you react to them will determine your long term success

When I comes to keeping your goals specific, there’s a framework used by fitness and health professionals worldwide… SMART goals.
Everyone in fitness learns about SMART goals and often neglect them but when used properly they can be a powerful tool when planning your goals.
Your goals need to be specific, you’re far less likely to achieve them if they’re not
If you need help planning or achieving your goals, send me a message… I can help

Make sure you include both short term and long term goals this year!
You need to plan for your New Year’s resolutions… they won’t just happen themselves
What are you doing to make 2023 different from every other year?
It only works if you do the work
Regardless of what method you use whether it’s lifting weights, running, cycling or swimming
Whether you try low carb or calorie counting
None of them will work if you don’t commit to it and give it everything
That’s the secret!
It’s not the method… it’s the effort you put into it
Stop looking for easy options and start looking at ways you can improve
Impatience and Bad planning are preventing you from reaching your goals
Don’t expect to make life changing progress without putting in the effort to plan it first
Probably not!
That doesn’t mean you can take the p**s either
Xmas is a great time to relax and spend time with the people closest to you
That doesn’t give you an excuse to demolish a box of heroes for breakfast every day!
Too many people go into the Xmas break with the all or nothing mindset, just because your not losing weight doesn’t mean you can’t maintain or at least limit weight gain
Be a little sensible, enjoy yourself and try and get at least some exercise done and you won’t be any worse off than you are now
Beginners guide to a barbell row
There will never be a perfect time
We’ve all used this excuse
We’re to busy at work, it’s Xmas, we have lots of social nights out
Don’t wait for the perfect time cause there won’t be one
Work will always be in the way
You might have less nights out but have kids to look after
There will always be something
Even if there was a perfect time… at some point you will be busy again, then what? Just stop?
You need to work towards your goals when your busy, not just when it’s ideal
Make a start now!
It doesn’t have to be perfect, just start!
What is work capacity?
Work capacity is an important factor when palling your training
It is simply how much work your body can tolerate and recover from
There are a million methods out there and a lot of them work (not all, some are just stupid)
The underlying principle remains the same
Eat less and move more
This phrase has been thrown about a lot and it’s very simple idea
That doesn’t mean it’s not true
Yes the human body is complicated and there are lots of factors that go into losing weight and improving your health but…
It does all come down to in vs out
Health conditions, lifestyle conditions etc can all impact this but it still applies
If you eat less than you burn you will lose weight, how you do this is completely up to you!
The best way for you may be completely different from someone else, and that’s okay, that person needs a different method but the same principle applies
