The Clubs Featured Artist in the Kingsgate Gallery from now until 2nd November 2024 is Helen Rowbotham. Here is a selection from Helens’s excellent work now on display on “The Wall”. Paintings can be viewed for the next six weeks during regular Gallery opening hours 12 til 4pm Fridays and 10 til 4 on Saturdays.
Another new hanging of paintings took place yesterday in the Kingsgate Gallery. Over 85 new paintings will remain on show from this Friday 27th September until 2nd November. In addition, there is an extensive display of work from Helen Rowbotham on the Featured Artist Wall. Here is a selection of the paintings now on show.

The latest hanging of paintings took place today in the Kingsgate Gallery. Around 85 new paintings will be on show from Friday 2 August until 21 September. In addition, the Featured Artist Wall returned for this hanging (see separate post re Laura Gillespie's feature). Here is a selection of the paintings now on show.
Here's Laura Gillespie, the club's Featured Artist at the Kingsgate Gallery from Friday 2 August. Laura's excellent display of paintings together with her prints, cards, mugs and tea towels will be on show and available until 21 September.

Only a week to go until the start of this year's Aberdour ART Festival! Opening night is Friday 26 July 6-9pm, then Saturday 27 July 11am-5pm and Sunday 28 July 12noon-4pm. Come and see the wonderful artists and makers on display! And bring cash for the raffle!

Many congratulations to Fiona Beveridge on winning this years Jess Burns prize at the Club Annual Exhibition with her painting "Those Eyes". The award is given each year to the painting voted most popular by the general public. Works by Ken Young were voted in second and third places. Thanks to all who visited the exhibition and took part in the vote.
A huge display of 135 new, original and previously unseen paintings were put on show yesterday in the club Gallery in Dunfermline's Kingsgate Shopping Centre. The club's 2024 Annual Exhibition opens this Friday (14th June). A selection of paintings featured in the exhibition are shown here.
The ballot box is in place again this year where visitors will be able to vote for their favourite painting where the winner will receive this year's Jess Burns Prize.

Did you know Dunfermline Art Club have an active outdoor sketching group which meets on a Monday morning. The sketch below was done by Tony Felton one of our regular sketchers on our visit to Limekilns. Our sketching outings always end with a visit to a local cafe for coffee and scones and lots of chat.

The paintings on show illustrate Marilyn’s watercolour approach to evocative landscapes.

From next week Dunfermline Art Club is extending the opening hours of the Kingsgate Gallery. Fridays 12 -4pm remains unchanged, but Saturdays will be open from 10 am until 4pm. If you are an early bird, pay us a visit.

Art Club President Helen Rowbotham (R) presents George Aitken Award winning artist Lesley Inglis with her prize following the public vote for her painting "Glencoe". The voting took place during the club's recent Winter Exhibition in the Kingsgate Gallery.
The George Aitken Award was introduced during our recent Winter Exhibition in the Kingsgate Gallery where we invited the public to vote for their favourite of the 135 paintings featured in the exhibition. The award is so named in honour of the late George Aitken, an acclaimed accomplished artist and former President of the club.
Over 300 votes were cast and the winner of the inaugural award with 29 votes was Lesley Inglis for her excellent painting "Glencoe". Many congratulations Lesley.
With a great selection of Club members’ work, Dunfermline Art Club is ready to open the 2023 Winter Exhibition.

Club Sketching Group – Moving Indoors
As from Monday 23rd October the club sketching group activities will continue as usual but within the confines of the Club Studio at Townhill, commencing at 1000.
All club members are of course welcome to attend.
Outdoor sketching will resume in the Spring 2024.
