✨ Concentration ✨
The ability to concentrate is one of the most important life skills children can learn. It is not only important for receiving and retaining information but it’s also important for socialising, making friends and becoming confident in making their way in the world.
🧠 Concentration is like a muscle, the more a child practices, the better it becomes.
So how do we promote concentration in our classes??
🌱 A calm environment helps children to relax and focus.
🧠 Mind games are great especially those with a strategy- story based games, word jumbles, memory games.
🧘♀️ Quick brain breaks or movement breaks.
📚 Reading to children is one of the most beneficial learning experiences.
👏 Lots of praise provides motivation and encourages focus on tasks.
💨 Mindfulness- Controlled breathing techniques have been proven to boost memory, focus and problem solving skills.
✨ GRATITUDE ✨
That’s our Speech and Drama classes all wrapped up for the summer holidays…
I’m so grateful to all my students and their parents for their hard work and support throughout the year.
Their smiles, laughter and little stories bring so much happiness to our classes each week but it’s little messages like this that just make my heart smile💛
It’s so lovely to see them make new friends, learn new skills and grow in confidence along the way✨
Hope you all have a lovely summer break💫
Best of luck to all my amazingly talented students taking their LCM Speech and Drama exams today!✨

Just a few reminders for those who are in the midst of exams at the moment💛
Especially some of my own students working very hard on their upcoming Speech and Drama exams too💫
✨ Coordination ✨
One of the key areas we focus on involves promoting and executing coordinated movements such as-
🕺 Gross motor coordinations- Getting arms and legs to work in a coordinated, effective way.
🎨 Fine motor coordination.
👁 Hand eye coordination.
🦩 Balance skills.
During our classes we work on developing these coordination skills through a range of fun and creative play activities💫
✨ Connection ✨
We are not meant to go through life alone👫
Healthy relationships are vital for development and these begin in childhood.
Connecting with others helps develop a sense of belonging, develops social skills and leads to higher self esteem and confidence🫶
Our classroom is an environment where everyone feels safe, respected and encouraged to be the best version of themselves💫
✨ Multi sensory activities ✨
This little game is fab for working on a whole range of skills. It requires attentive listening skills, reading skills and is great in helping with fine motor skills too!🙌
To play-
🗣 One player shouts out a word.
👂 The other player has to listen carefully for the word ending.
👀 Then identify the corresponding card and knock it down with the counter.
Kids love the idea of trying to knock the cards down🎳
✨ Communication ✨
From the first cry of a newborn baby, children are communicating with those around them.
As they go through their childhood they pick up on different ways to communicate by observing and copying others.
Being an effective communicator will help children to make friends, express their feelings and build relationships.
There are lots of different ways to communicate both verbally and non verbally.
We work on many different methods of communication in our classes.. Some examples include mime, chinese whispers, story building and using puppets.
Effective communication helps stimulate language development, spontaneous conversation and problem solving.
All of which will lead to high self esteem and confidence.💫
Jumping into Monday💥
Speech and Drama classes back to normal this week 🎭
Looking forward to seeing lots of happy little faces tomorrow☺️
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break🐣
✨ Creativity ✨
🧠 Creativity is the freest form of self expression.
✨ Children are naturally creative through play and communication- they both go hand in hand.
🌻 Establishing an environment where creativity can blossom is hugely important in order for children to make choices and come up with different solutions. As their ability to think creatively strengthens, their confidence and ability to communicate strengthens too.
🌿 Allowing lots of time for open ended activities is essential to encourage and nurture creativity.
And most importantly… focusing on the process of creativity is much more important than the end product! What they learn about themselves along the way is vital for their development🙌
“Inside every child is a rainbow waiting to shine”
Easter Monday fun at CRAIC Theatre
🌸 Our theme was Easter and Spring time.
🌱 We talked about the changes that have been happening over the last few weeks and linked our yoga and craft activities to match.
🌈 Creating rainbows helped us to understand the importance of change, new beginnings, hope and happiness.
✨ A lovely morning spent moving our bodies, connecting with each other, creating little masterpieces and most importantly… having tons of fun!!
Thank you so much to all the little people for joining me and a special thank you to all their parents for trusting me💛
I hope you all enjoyed your morning!💛
Thanks, Kayleigh💫
Excited for an Egg-cellent Easter!🐣
Do you have a 5-10 year old who would like to come along to our Easter Workshop this Monday at CRAIC Theatre?

✨ Confidence ✨
One of the greatest gifts we can give to children and young adults.
In order to thrive, kids need to be able to trust their own capabilities, as well as this, they need to be able to understand that they will be ok if they don’t succeed at something.
Helping to build self esteem and confidence will have significant benefits to last a life time.
Confident kids are better equipped to handle a multitude of situations such as-
💫 Embracing imperfection
💫 Trying new things
💫 Taking risks
💫 Handling stress
💫 Making new friends
💫 Taking pride in their work
💫 Having determination to reach their goals.
