Ulster Special Constabulary Museum
PLEASE SHARE POST & FLYER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!
Plans are underway to turn the old Loughgall Police Station into a museum charting the 50 years of the Ulster Special Constabulary.
The project is being spearheaded by the new Ulster Special Constabulary Museum group, who have secured the premises for this purpose.
The Ulster Special Constabulary – which included the B Specials – was formed in 1920 against a backdrop of conflict following the Partition of Ireland, before being stood down in 1970.
Today we stop and pause for a moment and remember the fallen at The Battle of the Somme in 1st July 1916.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we Forget 🌹
RBP 1147 - 100th ANNIVERSARY
Bloomhill Olive Branch of Peace RBP 1147 held their 100th Anniversary Parade and Praise Service on Friday 28th June 2024. To commence the evening, Sir Knights of RBP 1147, the Sovereign Grand Master, distinguished guests, visiting Sir Knights, members of Bloomhill Accordion Band and two Pipers assembled at Bloomhill House to recreate the very first parade of the preceptory which took place on Wednesday 25th June 1924. A photograph to mark the occasion was taken. This was followed by a parade to Stughan Orange Hall where a Praise Service was led by the Sovereign Grand Master. “Men in Black” performed two musical pieces and the rousing hymns added to the great atmosphere of the evening. Organist was Mrs Carla Montgomery. At the conclusion of the evening a cup of tea was served with time for a chat and fellowship.
Please Support Bloomhill Olive Branch of Peace RBP 1147 as they host their Centenary Parade and Praise this Friday evening! Sure to be a great night!

Today marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, one of the most important turning points of World War 2.
More than 5,000 ships and landing craft delivered 150,000 troops to five beaches in Normandy. 4,440 Allied soldiers lost their lives on D-Day, the first day of Operation Overlord, which ultimately brought about the liberation of German-occupied Western Europe.
We remember all of those who sacrificed so much so we can live free.
Lest we forget
During the Last Saturday Parade and Demonstration in Loughgall on 26 August 2023 a 40 Year Long Service Medal was found in the Demonstration Field. The clasp and bar for attaching it to the collarette is missing, and presumably is still attached to the collarette.
If a claim is being made we would require an email confirmation from the District/Preceptory Registrar confirming the authenticity of such claim. Claims/queries to our email address - [email protected]
As the Country prepares to mark 80 years since D-Day, the story of Company Sergeant Major Samuel Brodison MM encapsulates the heroic yet extremely dangerous assignments which many of our War Heroes undertook and accomplished.

Money goes towards supporting Cancer Charities!
Sir Knights, family and friends of Bloomhill RBP 1147 took part in their Banner Hike today at Slieve Donard. The weather was great and the craic was mighty. A BBQ was held at the premises of Right Worshipful Brother Harold Henning, DGM Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland following the hike, during which David and Sarah Watson from B Positive gave an inspiring address on the history of the charities work which was started by their son Adam who sadly died aged 9 with acute myeloid leukaemia.
