This special calf traces her roots back to AMI MYSTIQ (6. dam), imported from France in 1997 as a calf.

Ami Mystiq developed into a strong mobile cow with moderate stature, fantastic udder and tremendous will to milk. She was the first cow at Relough to give 15,000kg over 2 consecutive lactations. (2x milking)

Perhaps a cow who was ahead of her time, Ami Mystiq would likely not have been considered a modern Holstein in the early 2000's but certainly would be in 2023.

Her descendants have maintained these high standards. The 6 generations since have been consistently excellent, routinely producing 12,000kg+ lactations with good components.

The sire stack includes legends of the breed such as Shottle, Iota and Goldwyn and the Lambda calf for sale is a potential 9th gen excellent cow. Our first 2 Lambdas in the herd have both classified VG 86 as 2yr olds.

Congratulations to the McLean family from Donaghmore, County Tyrone, who topped today's Holstein bull sale at Kilrea Mart at 9,000gns.

This is a new herd record for Relough, and a record for a pedigree Holstein bull sold at Kilrea by HA McIlrath and Sons Ltd.

The record-breaker was the February 2022 born Relough Danstar ET, sired by Westcoast Redcarpet A2A2, and bred from the successful Danna cow family. He is the first-ever Relough bull sold from an EX95 dam and EX96 Gdam.
