Our 50g sample roaster.

We use this to roast all our pre-shipment samples and then again when the coffee lands with us. It gives us a steer in the right direction when profiling new coffees before the bigger batches drop in.

Last week we’ve been sampling new Kenyan and Colombian lots keep your eyes out for them dropping over the next couple of months. 🔥🔥

So we can finally let the cat out of the bag! It’s taken us a few months to get here but we’ve been working hard in the background on the next new venture 👀

As some of you will have seen today we’re taking over from at 8 Monk Street, Newcastle. A joint venture with our mate Charlie who some of you have already met when he was working at the roastery.

We can’t wait to get started with a huge focus on speciality coffee and events from us and other roastery friends from the North East and beyond. We’ll also be bringing you some mean bakes from some of your favourite local master bakers and more.

Those who are regulars at Canny Goat will be pleased to still see the awesome and 💫 slinging some of the best coffees in town.

🚨 New banger alert 🚨

It’s been some time coming but Costa Rica has finally landed here at Fika. The baad news is I’ve only been able to secure a couple of bags.

El Perezoso is a black honey processed coffee with sweet black currant, red grape, milk chocolate and hazelnut notes.

My job this weekend is to drink it in as many different ways as I can. Trust me it is delicious.

Holidays are coming! We’ll be finishing up this Friday 22nd and will be back roasting on the 10th April.

Almost time for a break. It’s been an extremely busy start to the year and so many more exciting things to come.

We’ll be heading off on an adventure to Sri Lanka for a couple of weeks on 25th March so I’m sure it’s going to be a very busy couple of weeks getting everyone stocked up for the Easter break.

You still have two weeks to get your supplies so do give us a shout if you need some beans before we go.

We’re the only place in the area that uses at the moment, & we might be bias but we believe it’s the best 🫶🏻 super ethical, super delicious.
