The results are in after the first week- GET INVOLVED- of this year's inter-collegiate Sustainability Varsity! Where does your college rank? 🏅

Points were awarded last week based on new signups to the My Greenspace platform, average actions completed on the platform per user, and logs of environmental volunteering. Amazing environmental volunteering opportunities from DUSVO

We are challenging the Durham University staff and student body to all give at least an hour of their time this summer to volunteer to help make a difference to someone else!

This can be volunteering you do on your own, or we have a number of one-off opportunities available - for a list of these and for details on how to register your interest, for them, please follow this link:

Good very late evening!

Although it is in the middle of exam season (Good luck everyone!), I'd like to introduce you Green Move Out, an intercollegiate project to collect furniture donations from students for local charities so that less waste is produced and more pre-loved things are put to good use.

If you are considering of moving at the end of this term, this is a great opportunity to find a new home for the furniture that you don't need anymore. This year, Butler Green comm is working with Shaid, and we welcome donations of pots, pans, crockery, and bedding. You might wanna start planning what and when to donate if you'd like to participate!

Don't worry if you want to donate other furniture! Simply dm this page, Zhuoqing Victoria Gu or Kian Hayles-Cotton about what you'd like to donate, and we will try to transfer them to colleges that welcome these donations.

Stay tuned for more posts!

Do you know about the 2013 Dhaka Garment Factory Collapse in Bangladesh?

In Fashion Revolution Week 2021, we're reminiscing the loss of over 1,000 young women in this tragedy, and educating ourselves about why we need fairtrade and sustainability in fast fashion industry.

See more information on Fashion Revolution, and an informative video on the reality of fairtrade and 'greenwashing' in the fashion industry made by Justine Leconte : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYkFHMgToeA
