Adam is the founder of Man Club and is running this year to inspire any men struggling with their mental health to reach out for support.

Adam aims to provide support and remove the stigma associated with mental health for men. He said: "This will be my seventh time running the Great North Run. My inspiration this year is the hope that one person who's struggling sees my T-shirt and reaches out for support."

Last Saturday we were exceptionally fortunate to be able to attend and take part in the first Lola’s Pool Party Grand Finals up in Hamilton Town Hall in Scotland.

For those unfamiliar with these exciting events, they are the brainchild of IPA Professional Mark Boyle. Mark toured the length and breadth of the country hosting Qualifiers in clubs here there and everywhere including Kitt's Pool Room & Bar Durham. 1 winner from each qualifier was invited to take part in the Grand Finals and be in with a chance to win £20,000!

The player representing us was the exceptionally talented IPA Professional Lee Shepherd aka the PintSized Powerhouse.

All 50 player names were placed in a pot with 2 at a time being drawn to play 1 frame. The winner went back into the pot while the loser was eliminated from the competition.

It was a tense occasion for players and spectators as 50 eventually became 2 with amazingly Lee being one of them, the other was another pro and the former IPA World Champion Craig Marsh. But such was the nature of the format, it was anyones to game and despite winning the lag, Lee got a dry-break that was to be his last shot. Craig cleared the table on his visit and became the first Lola's Pool Party winner!

A truely remarkable event that raised so much money for some amazing charities and we are so proud to have been involved. Mark has some very big plans for next years event already in mind and you better believe we will be hosting a qualifier at Kitt's so watch this space.

What a CLASS event. Earlier this week we hosted The Daisy Cocktail Competition in collaboration with Pernod Ricard and Bristol Syrup Co.

Bartenders from across the industry were shaking and stirring some seriously top drinks.

The winner was Jonny Kelly from Tango Durham, who won a custom engraved bottle of Olmeca Altos Plata done by Ian Chapman from Skins and Needles Durham and a rare Cocktail Shaker set made by artisans from Jalisco in Mexico.

Massive thanks to everyone that came along to the event.

It was a dark day for the Kitt's Brigade yesterday as we tussled with a Viking invader ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Our larger than life hero Thomas "The Gun" McHenry was finally bested despite a solid performance. He fell victim to the talented and unmerciful Calvin "The Viking" Chisholm from Premier Pool in Ashington.

These players gave us a fantastic show staying neck and neck throughout the course of their epic showdown but at 1️⃣5️⃣-1️⃣5️⃣ The Gun produced a flurry winning 3 frames in a row to make it 1️⃣8️⃣-1️⃣5️⃣ and to our tense bar full of onlookers it was looking like another victory but in a dramatic turn-around The Viking summoned something incredible to win 5 frames on the spin winning the match 2️⃣0️⃣-1️⃣8️⃣.

A truely epic event that we are very proud to have hosted, we shall keep you posted on when these boys decide on their rematch as the Gun is already plotting his revenge at Calvin's home venue.
