Teaching locally in Oxfordshire + onl
After an omicron hiatus we are restarting lessons next Thursday 10th Feb, 7.30pm at The Merry Bells! Message me on Facebook or follow me on Instagram () to sign up!
Where have the last couple of months gone?! So pleased to announce that things are looking good enough for me to be able to start teaching again! First lessons will restart on Thursday 10th Feb. Stay tuned for more details and booking info!
This has been a difficult decision, and not one I’ve taken lightly. I'm so sorry to let you know that I will be cancelling my classes for the month of December due to the omicron variant. From a professional perspective, until we know more about the variant I feel it would be irresponsible of me to facilitate non-essential indoor activities through my classes.
I will review towards the end of the month as to whether I can restart face to face classes in January, and will be in touch to let you know. Again I'm so sorry to do this, I hope you understand my rationale and that I will see you again in the New Year.
🙏SIX MONTHS OF YOGA🙏 I’m so happy to have been teaching all you wonderful people for the last six months! We’ve tried online, outdoor and indoor classes and they’ve all been a blast. I’m so grateful to every single one of you who have joined me to practise together and to all of the Oxfordshire yogis I’m yet to meet 😊
🙏LOOK HOWEVER YOU LOOK🙏 I’ve had a couple of students ask me recently about alignment and ‘proper ‘posture in yin yoga. The key thing with yin however is not about looking a certain way; it’s about feeling a certain way. Having the freedom to explore movement in a way that changes you on the inside rather than outside. My wide leg childs pose with a twist might not look perfect, but it feels amazing!

One last class tonight and then I’m taking a break for a couple of weeks! See you all on 30th sept for more yin yoga 🙏🙏

Join us for a wonderful morning, getting to know and sharing with the community, practicing yoga and tasting delicious food surrounded by the splendid views of the Howe Trust Allotments!
We are two yoga teachers who moved to the area during the pandemic, and met through the incredible power of social media. We found our styles of teaching very complementary and also found that we both love the treats and coffees from Bruin!
So, with the intention of bringing together movement enthusiasts and families in the area, we’ve decided to put this event together, hoping to meet new people, support the local community and inspire anyone who likes to spend time in nature and explore a bit of movement and meditation to come out and play.
After the two yoga classes, Louis from Bruin will treat us to a delicious brunch that includes salad, a vegan meal and a drink.
Please join us!

Change happens constantly. Sometimes it catches us by surprise and other times we see it coming. With yin yoga we teach ourselves to observe changes within our bodies in the moment, watching without judgement as muscles stretch and tension releases. This is something we can apply to our wider lives, to approach change with a calm mind and reducing the urge to resist.
Change is also coming to BAUME yoga! This week is my final online free class before I have a break for a month to spend time with family and friends when the local travel ban is removed. Then if all goes well I’ll be starting to teach face to face over the summer, and hopefully organising lots more fun events in Wheatley and Oxford. Keep an eye on my stories and posts to find out more in the coming weeks!
🙏SEAL POSE🙏 one of the stronger, almost yang, poses in yin yoga and a great transition between cobra and child’s pose. This is a powerful backbend as well as stimulating the shoulders and upper arms. See how long you can hold this one for!
It feels like the world is coming to life again this weekend! So many people out and about on walks and in parks, and the smell of barbecues in the air. I’ll be spending this time in the same fashion, seeing friends and letting the dogs play together again.
🙏HALF SADDLE🙏 this is a great pose for the lower back, hips and thighs- if you get it right you’ll feel like you want to stay in the pose for hours! I prop myself up on a yoga bolster but some thick pillows wrapped in a blanket do the same job.
How gorgeous was the weather today! Did some meditation in the garden after work under this lovely tree, listening to the birds and general hum of everyone around enjoying the beginnings of spring. Really looking forward to teaching at at the end of this month and keeping fingers crossed the weather stays this good!
🙏WIDE KNEE CHILDS POSE🙏 this is such a lovely pose for stretching out into at any time of day- for a wake up, a mid day reset or evening chill. Bringing the toes together and knees as wide as is comfortable, pivot forward from the hips and trace along the length of the mat with your palms until you are far enough forward to feel a stretch in your inner thighs and shoulders. I like to stay in this one for 5-8 minutes but you can spend as long as you like here, listening to what your body needs.

In yin yoga classes we talk a lot about finding your edge, but what does that actually mean? Our bodies always talk to us, letting us know the limits of our tolerance for poses and stretches and warning us about potential injuries ahead. However, staying too far away from that edge of tolerance also leaves us at risk of damage from disuse and atrophy. In yin yoga we practice playing mindful attention to these signals and sensations to find that spot where we challenge ourselves, developing our strength and flexibility slowly, without going too far. It’s amazing how much progress can be made within the space of a three minute held pose.
🙏SADDLE POSE🙏 when I filmed this video it was a day my body would let me sink to the floor comfortably- other days I use a bolster to support my back. This is a great pose for runners, or conversely if you’ve been sat at a desk all week and are stiff in your lower back and thighs. Try it yourself by leaning back against the sofa to start, before exploring the pose and edging back further- you might surprise yourself!
❤️ALL PLACES RESERVED! ❤️ I’m absolutely blown away by the interest in the Yoga Brunch with , thank you so much to everyone who got in touch. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to do more in the summer but in the meantime I’ll be hosting FREE online classes every Thursday at 8pm for the next four weeks, plus lots of other exciting events in the pipeline....!
Spring is coming and the world is waking up again! To celebrate, I’m hosting a morning yin yoga and meditation session in the gorgeous garden at followed by brunch, Saturday 24th April at 9am, all for £20! Due to COVID-19 restrictions numbers are very limited so book early to avoid disappointment- DM me or email [email protected] to reserve your spot 🙏
🐉 DRAGON POSE 🐉 this is one of the more ‘yang’ yin yoga poses, requiring us to tune in to the strength we hold in our shoulders and thighs. It’s a great pose for releasing hip and lower spine tension, and stimulates the key meridian lines for anger and frustration so is a great emotional release as well. Have a go today on a work break and let me know how you get on!
P.s the cats name is Elsa and she is fascinated by yoga 🐱
This weekend I’ve been busy making some videos to share with you of my favourite yin yoga poses 🧘 Including lots of modifications and props to get the most out of the practice!
Really looking forward to our first online class later this week 🙏

When did you last truly taste your morning cup of coffee? Noticing the warmth of the cup, the smell, the taste, the feeling of it on your tongue? Sometimes meditation is as simple as paying a little more attention, just for a moment. Why don't you try it today and see what happens? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Do you ever find yourself looking round in a yoga class, comparing yourself to others and feeling disappointed that you don't look like everyone else? Have you ever pushed yourself into twists and binds that look good on the 'gram but leave you feeling sore and injured? BAUME yoga + meditation is different. It's not about how you look- it's about how you feel. Bring your body, mind and breath back in to focus, and just observe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In the beginnings of yoga, the asanas (body postures) were only very minor parts of this spiritual practice. In fact the closest word to asana in early yogic texts was asundi, describing a block upon which one sat in order to meditate. Yin yoga brings us back to the roots of yoga, to find strength in stillness, be with our breath and focus our attention inward. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
