It has been such a busy week! and few weeks to be honest...

🌟 I have a second business called Empowerment Learning which provides educational coaching to students in the North East. I am working regularly with two academies in Newcastle and it is a pleasure to support the educational journey of even more students

🌟 It was international women's day on Wednesday- it was great to listen to some inspirational women regarding their journeys. Discuss the difference and importance of equity V's equality and meeting some empowering women 🚺🦸‍♀️

🚀Youtube - Required Practical Videos

Required Practical's 🧪🥼🥽⏲ make up a minimum of 15% of each paper, so you know they will be assessed! 💯

Questions can include:
❓ Writing a method
❓ Identifying variables
❓ Analysing data
❓ Identifying mistakes in practical's (this appears in Level 3 questions- so higher tier I am looking at you!)

📽 Videos of required practical's are a good place to start- YouTube have some amazing examples and some schools have created the whole set!

✏ I recommend drawing out the practical (equipment & steps) then use the diagram as a checklist to writing a method 1. 2. 3. . . .

Past paper practice (PPP) is an awesome way to learn and to test your knowledge.

🧠 To learn simply use the mark scheme alongside the questions (there is no cheating until the exam)

✅ The mark scheme demonstrates the keywords and phrases which the examiners are going to be looking for- learn how to use these to your advantage

🧪 Test your knowledge- complete the paper under exam conditions, mark it using the mark scheme (no cheating!), calculate your total. Search for the ACTUAL grade boundaries (just into Google) using the year, paper number and tier to find your current working grade

I always have that feeling, especially with my Year 11 students that I wish I had more time with them... ⏳

Therefore it is really important that I am focusing 🔍 on the right skills and the areas which require the most development. Whilst also in the back of my mind, the time ⏰ we have left until the next assessment point

So alongside tuition, revision and school it is important to know where you can find the best resources to fill those little gaps 🕳
