My second visit to Whinstone View for the beautiful wedding of Holly & Tom and what a cracker it was too! I was a little worried about the weather after a very stormy and wet day the day before, but sure enough, the sun shone for a good part of the day and we managed to stay dry all day, so that was a bonus!

Fantastic working with Ray Snowdon with his fantastic musical talents and the lads from Stark Films Weddings on the videography side of things and The Disco Co - I've been fortunate enough to work with those guys before, but it was also lovely to work with the rest of the great supplier team too;

Another beautiful day last week for the wedding of & Jack.

Interesting start to the day with the fire alarm going off (no there wasn’t a fire 🔥!) but everything else ran to clockwork :)

Some great weather and lovely autumn colours made some already stunning surroundings even more impressive! With so many places to photograph at this venue I could keep shooting for hours! The staircase and landing in this shot is just one of many of those locations! More to come from this great wedding!

What a fantastic day last week down for the wedding of .walker___ & Tom

As the sun was setting I rushed the couple out and up to the top of this hill just after they’d finished dessert so we could make the most of this golden glow, what a result 🥰 ❤️

I didn't even know that Morpeth had a castle until Mo & Rick booked me to shoot their wedding, with the prep at the Castle. A really different start to the day, even with a rooftop view over Morpeth!

When I met Alex & Bryony at a wedding fayre, we all hit it off straight away and knew we were the kind of people to have a good laugh and get the job done on the day! I was delighted when they came back to me a few days later to book.

This wedding was made even more special by the unique setting and general unique feel to the whole day at Babymoon with some absolutely wonderful people - a lot of laughter and smiles throughout the day that's for sure!!

5 - Howick Bathing House - 02:53am 11/10/24

WHAT A DISPLAY!!!
Last nights Aurora display was like nothing I’ve ever seen before and I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed it a few times.

My last location on this mammoth aurora hunt was the fantastic Howick Bathing House in Northumberland not far from Craster. Again the sky was just alive with all sorts of colours. I had decided to head for Holy Island after this, but as I set off some heavy cloud rolled in and with a good 45 mins or so to go I didn’t want to risk it with then another hour and a half to get home after, so I finally relented and headed for bed!
What a night!

4 - Tynemouth Priory - 01:40 11/10/24

Last nights Aurora display was like nothing I’ve ever seen before and I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed it a few times.

After moving on from The Weebles at South Shields I headed through the Tyne Tunnel and decided to go and see if Tynemouth Priory was lit up, which thankfully it was! A quick grab of a handful of shots and back on the road again….

Moving on from Souter Lighthouse, I ventured to the Herd Groyne Lighthouse at South Shields - little did I know that it’s covered in scaffolding or something, but the Aurora was still going crazy so I grabbed some shots there and then headed for The Weebles, I figured the other worldly nature of them fitted quite well with the Aurora!

2 (3 technically) Souter Lighthouse - 22:53 10/10/24

Last nights Aurora display was like nothing I’ve ever seen before and I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed it a few times.

After visiting Durham Cathedral I then headed to Penshaw Monument, but when I couldn’t even get a parking space I figured it might be best to just move on to Roker and grabbed some shots there of the beach and the lighthouse, but it looked like the show was possibly dying down a bit.

After half an hour or so there I continued on to Souter Lighthouse just a short distance up the coast and wow, everything had kicked off again so I managed this beauty right at the entrance to the driveway!

1 - Durham Cathedral - 21:54 11/10/24

Last nights Aurora display was like nothing I’ve ever seen before and I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed it a few times.

As I was wondering where to start my Aurora hunt my wife suggested Observatory Hill looking over Durham Cathedral - now usually you wouldn’t head to a city centre area to shoot the Aurora l because the light pollution can really dull or even stop you from seeing the colours, however, from studying the stats I knew (as much as you can) that this was going to be one of hell of a light show so figured I’d give Durham a go, I could always leave and move on, but I wasn’t disappointed, along with the other 100 or so people at the location!

What a start to the night!!

Howick Bathing House, 3:15 this morning. Might be time for home now with some clouds rolling in. What a night!

Go to the darkest place possible they say, avoid lit up areas - eeerrrrr - Durham Cathedral about ten mins ago…..

Well, what can I say about the wedding of Tim & Beth at Danby Castle in North Yorkshire - what a stunner!! This venue has such amazing views over the Yorkshire countryside as well as having some beautiful little areas to shoot.

Tim & Beth chose to have their first dance inside the ruins of the venue, what an amazing experience to see it and to shoot it!!

These guys were having fun from the moment they got on site right through to the end of the evening, with some great garden games, a little venture to some local beauty spots and some fantastic guests, it really was one to remember!!

These guys had a mammoth drive from down south to get up to the beautiful Northumberland countryside to enjoy their fantastic intimate wedding at Langley Castle near Hexham. My first time shooting this venue, but wow, what a beautiful place!!

Just a short wedding day for me, with a small number of people, but it was so intimate and special! Loved it!

After meeting Lauren and Ryan at the South Causey Wedding Fayre, then seeing them at another wedding I shot and meeting Lauren at the venue again, it was finally time for the big day!!

This wedding was another stunner at the ever-changing Old Barn at The South Causey Inn. A little bit of rain didn’t dampen the spirts at all and then later on after the first dance I packed up and headed for home, but seeing the amazing sunset that was happening I had to turn around and head back to shoot the couple one last time!! It was definitely worth it!

I met Lindsey & Jeff at a wedding showcase at the beautiful Linden Hall in Northumberland and we hit it off straight away. I’m glad to say that some of the images I had on display really wowed these guys and they booked me very soon after, where they had been considering not having a photographer!

The sunshine on the day meant that the outside ceremony was a go, a really stunning location for any wedding!

You get married in a castle, with access to the roof and a fantastic view, it would be rude not to shoot up there!! So that’s exactly what we did with Richard and Nikki at their amazing wedding last week.

So, what comes next…. this weeks travel will see us doing over 7000 miles!!!
A trip to Dubai.
Currently sat at Heathrow Airport with after the flight down from Newcastle, just waiting for our connecting flight to Dubai.

Numerous reasons for going to Dubai and hopefully the meeting I have booked in will be fruitful, but beyond that a good break and a new adventure.

It’s been another crazy week of miles, with weddings and , a wedding fayre then other work taking me to Peterborough, Sittingbourne and Chichester before a very very long drive home!!
