Today is our Tearfund Walk. 🥾

💧Tearfund was founded in 1968 and may just be the biggest UK charity you don’t really know about?

💧Last year Tearfund spent £85 million in disaster relief and relieving poverty.

💧You want to assist the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the Lebanon? Tearfund are already on the ground.

💧You want to help the famine victims of Sudan? Tearfund are already there.

💧You want to assist communities devastated by hurricanes in the Caribbean? Tearfund already operate in several countries there.

💧Or flood victims in Bangladesh?
Or earthquake victims?
Or those caught up in wars?

For more than 55 years Tearfund has been quietly working in about 50 of the world’s poorest countries. Helping people regardless of race or religion. Loving them as neighbours.

If you haven’t heard of Tearfund it’s because they don’t spend donations on publicity or expensive fundraising. (We like that! )

As you wake up in your warm beds on this damp morning, 35 walkers would love your sponsorship - just a few pounds if you can spare it?

Our group includes 8 year olds and 80 year olds, all dedicating today to a hike over the South Downs so that Tearfund can spend £85 million next year too.

This Sunday in our 10am service we start a new series in the book of Malachi called 'I Have Loved You'. In the evening we have Cafe Church on the theme of Grace - doors open at 6pm.

Although most of us aren't involved in agriculture, celebrating Harvest reminds us to give thanks for all that we have, to the One who has provided it all. We also have the chance to share with others through donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries for FSW Family Support Work's Foodbank.
