There are hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm Collection of Fillers and calcium hydroxylapatite fillers such as Radiesse, and polylactic acid fillers like Sculptra. Each of these dermal fillers serve a different purpose and not every patient will benefit from the same one.  ❌Fillers look fake! ✅You’ve probably heard someone say dermal fillers look fake or that they will make you look frozen or plastic. Dermal fillers can in fact cause you to look like all those things, that is why it’s important to go to a licensed and experienced professional. They can inject the right kind and amount of filler to customize your results to tailor to your unique face. You can still look your best, but also look natural.🥰 ❌Fillers will make my skin stretch and sag. ✅The truth is when dermal fillers are done right by an experienced provider, they add subtle amounts of volume to the area without stretching the skin. Furthermore, dermal fillers are composed of naturally occurring molecules found in our bodies which can actually increase collagen and elastic production. This leads to decreased skin laxity and your skin is less likely to sag. Once our bodies absorb the filler or you choose to discontinue dermal filler injections, skin laxity will return to previous condition. But it won’t be worse than what it was before! ❌Anyone can inject fillers ✅ Unfortunately, the UK does not yet have legislation to prevent non-medical professionals from delivering injectable cosmetic treatments. ❗️An important reminder for those who’ve just had a chemical peel done. Here are 4 things you shouldn’t do after a chemical peel (and a very, very important 5th one): ❌Pick at peeling skin: I know, I know, it’s tempting to speed up the process by peeling off those flaky bits. Resist the urge! Picking can lead to scarring and uneven skin tone. Let nature take its course for that smooth, even glow. 🌿✨ ❌ Use retinol or other harsh products: Put away those strong exfoliants and active ingredients for now. Your skin needs gentle care post-peel. Opt for hydrating and soothing products to nourish and calm your skin. 🌺💧 ❌ Touch your face: you might still feel some tingling, tightness or itchiness for the first few hours after your peel. Regardless, it’s important that you don’t touch your face. ❌ Exfoliate your skin: your skin probably just had the deepest exfoliation its ever had! It doesn’t need any more, be it chemically or physically. Avoid exfoliating for at least 3-5 days after a light peel and perhaps week after a medium or deep peel. And lastly, the one point I can’t NOT mention: ❌ DON’T skip the SPF: your skin is extra sensitive after a peel.
