PART 2

1. Figuritas de Mazapán from El Artesano

These traditional marzipan shapes are made using ground almonds with a little sugar. They are slightly lightly granular in texture and have a natural almond flavour. Traditionally served at Christmas in Spain these are far too good to save until then.  

2. Turrón de Alicante Hard from El Artesano

Turron is a confectionary which is famous all over Spain. It is made with whole almonds which are combined with sugar, honey and a little egg white to produce a crunchy textured turron coated in thin wafer.

3. Turrón de Crema Catalana from El Artesano

A delicious turron made with ground almonds and flavoured with a little vanilla. This is a delicious change form the classic soft Turron De Jijona and has a rich flavour.

4. Turrón de Jijona from El Artesano

Turron is a confectionary which is famous all over Spain. Soft turron is made with whole almonds that are ground and combined with sugar, honey and a little egg white to produce a soft bar. Traditionally turron is eaten at Christmas but this delicious treat can be enjoyed all year round.

1. Trufas de Caramelo from Delaviuda

Irresistible and creamy truffles with a delicate caramel taste and sprinkled with cocoa above.

2. Bombones de Chocolate con Leche from Delaviuda

Round bombones filled with creamy milk chocolate. Individually wrapped.

3. Bombones de Avellana from Delaviuda

Round bombones without sugar, filled with a delicious hazelnut cream. Individually wrapped.

4. Mantecados de Almendra from D.Sancho Melero

Mantecados are a small cake made from flour, butter and sugar. This cake melts in your mouth and is very popular throughout Spain, especially during Christmas.
We sell them individually as well if you’d like to try one first.

5. Valorcao a la taza from Valor
Hot
(Chocolate powder for making ‘a la taza’)

If churros are king, then chocolate a la taza is their mandatory queen. Taza means “cup,” but with a thick, creamy, almost pudding-like consistency, this chocolate can be drunk but is mostly eaten—with a small teaspoon or by dipping churros.
We also serve this drink at Café Lola if you’d like to give it a try before buying the chocolate powder.

What to know about little bit about our coffee and the equipment we use ?

Café Lola is the only coffee shop in Edinburgh to sell and use Ozone Coffee Beans. Ozone is a certified B corporation that sells specialty coffee and prioritises social and environmental performance.
The coffee blend we use is from Costa Rica and Ethiopia, and it is called Hodson.


You can also buy small coffee bags for your home here at .

We use La Marzocco coffee machine to brew you this delicious coffee. These machines are handmade from Florence. We chose them because of the coffee making performance control they offer through temperature stability, adjustability and timed measurements. Accuracy is key to make the perfect cup of coffee.


Finally, we grind our coffee beans with a Victoria Arduino grinder. This machine has an adjustment system that allows users complete control of results and consistency, which is very useful because tamping varies user to user.

As days get shorter, cozy cafes where one can work, study or just relax become more and more important in our day to day. We hope you come at Lola in the afternoon to experience the atmosphere and the lighting seen in this picture.
