Very happy with the final results of a job completed in Morningside last week. Over the past 7 days the work we carried out was:

We manufactured three new 2/2 style sash and case windows. ✅
We also manufactured two new sashes for the angled side windows ✅
We fitted new double glazed units into all sashes✅
We made sure windows were plumb, levelled and fixed ✅
We replaced all rotten facings and mouldings on both the front and back dormers. ✅
We roped and weighted all sashes to make them fully opertional. ✅
We draft proofed the sashes, parting beads and baton rods to stop any heat loss. ✅
We fitted the easy clean system so the bottom sashes can now swing inwards for maintenance ✅
We fitted all new ironmongery and pulley wheels ✅

A large refurbishment job we were involved in on Queens Str earlier this year for the
We overhauled a total of 36 windows on this job, unfortunately missed out on getting picutres of the insides after the windows had been painted but heres some of the works we carried out on every window:

Removing parting beads, baton rods and ironmongery.

Scraping all existing paint from the sashes and cases before filling then sanding them.

Re weighing each sash so they operate as should and re roping each sash.

Replacing all pulley wheels and ironmongery.

Removing and replacing any rot on both the sash and cases.

Fitting new parting beads which included draft proofing.

Fitting new baton rods which included draft proofing.

Reinstating simplex system on all windows above the ground floor.

Two sets of bespoke doors we build and fitted for our friends at recently on Infirmary Street.

We changed the double door from a stable style to saloon style doors, we fitted new slip bolts, bush bars and hinges on these doors along with mouldings on the doors for to keep in style with the rest of the buildiny.

The second door we ripped out the exsisting door, facings and standards.
We then built the new standards, fitted new facings using marine ply also fitting new hinges, locks and grates to the door.

Full window refurbishment with new double glazed sashes. The window refurbishment included:
New parting beads and baton rods which included draft proofing.
Removing and renewing the sand mastic.
Re weighing and re roping thr sashes.
New ironmongery.

Some details of project we were excited to undertake and complete recently.
With a total of 32 windows having been worked on, all work being carried out on-site and completed with in a two weeks,
We will include some pictures and a breakdown of the works:

We manufactured and fitting 5 sash and case windows,
These were fully operational, from routering pulley wheels to roping and weighing the sashes,
Fully draft proofing each case with brush strips in both the parting beads and baton rods,
We finished each window with installing the easy clean system and fitting new ironmongery.
Also a further more 11 fixed sash and case windows were manufactured and fitted on site to go either side of the operational windows and one in the stairwell.

Along with the above work we refurbished a further 16 existing sash and case windows throughout the property, the work we carried out on these was, fitting new parting beads and baton rods to draft proof the windows.
Re roping and re weighing all the sashes.
Removing existing sand mastic and renewing with fresh buff sand mastic.
Installing the easy clean system and fitting new ironmongery.

The second phase of the window refurbishments and upgrades carried out on a multi flat renovation in the town centre.
In this second phase we fitted 9 new sash and case windows taking the total number of windows we refurbished and fitted on this job to 21. Now just ready to be decorated.

Some of the work we carried out was:

Removing the existing windows and fasciars ✅

Weighting, roping and fitting the new sashes ✅

Cutting fitting new 18mm marine ply fasciars on the dormers ✅

Applying sand mastic to the outside of the windows ✅

Sand mastic renewal on a large house renovation in Trinity.

The work we carried out was digging out and removing the existing sand mastic,
foaming and the cavity then cutting back flush before finally renewing with new stone coloured sand mastic.

Four New Dormer Windows Fitted Upgrades Fitted In Haymarket for Cullen Properties.

We replaced four tilt and turn windows back to traditional sash and case windows along with changing the glass to double glazing,
We also removed the ood rotten fascias replacing with our new ones made out of marine ply,
Finally making sure all windows were draft proofed, weighted correctly and fully operational before we left.

The first phase of the window refurbishments carried out on a multi flat renovation in the town centre. In this first phase we refurbished 9 windows in total, the work we carried out was:

We strip out the parting beads, baton rods, old weights, ironmongery and old sand mastic.

We scraped all the existing paint off the cases and sash faces before filling and sanding them.

We replaced the parting beads with new which included draft proofing.

We replaced the baton rods with new which included draft proofing.

We re roped all the sashes with new wax sash cord and re weighted the sashes and making any necessary adjustments.

We renewed the sand mastic with fresh buff sand mastic.

We instated an easy clean system making it easier to maintain them.

We fitted new ironmongery to all the windows.

Four windows we draft proofed in Broughton today.

The client was getting cold air through the windows, we removed the sashes and routered the tops, bottoms, sides and mid rails, then placed brush strip draft proofing in the check to keep them tight to the case and sash but also letting them run up and down freely.
We also put new brush strips into the existing parting beads and baton rods as the original ones had seen better days to maximise the draft proofing which should eliminate any heat loss through the windows.

Bespoke Walk In melamine wardrobes we built and fitted in Brunstane.

The client wanted to utilise wasted space in the room and gave us some ideas what they wanted.

We built and fitted ‘pigeon hole’ type shelves to accommodate shoes/trainers and also made to measure storage slots to fit the boxes they wanted, to help maximise the storage we fitted staggered rails on the wall.

We finished with building an invisible door and fitted push locks as requested.

Windows we refurbished at Dean Park have now been painted thanks to Edinburgh Painting Specialists, we’ve used them for a while now and have only had great reviews from past clients after there work,
As you can see he’s got them looking as good as new…. Again.

Three window refurbishments we carried out on Grosvenor Street in Edinburgh, ready to be painted now.

The work we carried out on these was:

Removing the existing parting beads and baton rods then replacing with our own which include a rebate with brush strips to help maximise draft proofing and sound pollution.

We removed the existing crumbling sand mastic and replaced with new fresh buff sand mastic.

We re roped each sash with new wax sash cord along with added weight to the sashes when necessary to help the sashes operate more smoothly.

We reinstated the simplex system so the windows can swing in to help with painting, cleaning and maintenance.

We replaced all the ironmongery with new brass fittings.

Altering pipe work so base units and new sink could fit in.
